End-Modified Branched Block Copolymers As Dual-Functional Soil Surfactants and Humectants
This invention relates to end-modified branched block copolymers for soil treatment applications. The end-modified branched block copolymers contain an alkoxylated block copolymer modified with a hydrophobic end group such as an alkysuccinic acid ester, a fatty acid ester, or an ether. Soils treated with these copolymers exhibit improved soil water penetration properties with enhanced atmospheric moisture absorption and provide overall healthier turf and/or plants contained therein.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ETHER ESTEROL
A method for producing an ether esterol, preferably a polyether esterol, is provided. The method comprises reacting an H-functional starter substance (1) with a cyclic anhydride (2) in the presence of a catalyst (4), wherein the cyclic anhydride (2) contains a specific alkylsuccinic acid anhydride (2-1) and the catalyst (4) is an amine, a double metal cyanide (DMC) catalyst and/or a Bronsted acid. Ether esterols, preferably polyether esterols obtainable using the claimed method are also provided..
Draw Solute, Draw Solution, and Water Treatment Device
A draw solute for the forward osmosis membrane process comprises a random copolymer obtainable by random addition of a monomer containing ethylene oxide and butylene oxide to a compound having one or more hydroxyl groups.
METHOD OF PREPARATION OF A POLYOL BLOCK COPOLYMER
A processfor producing a (poly)ol block copolymer comprising the reaction of a DMC catalyst with a polycarbonate or polyester (poly)ol (co)polymer and ethylene oxide, and optionally one or more other alkylene oxides, to produce a (poly)ol block copolymer wherein > 70% of the copolymer chain ends are terminated by primary hydroxyl groups, and the copolymers and products incorporating such copolymers.
Synthesis process for one-step production of monomeric polyether for polycarboxylic acid water reducing agents
Provided is a synthesis process for the one-step production of a monomeric polyether for polycarboxylic acid water reducing agents, wherein the monomeric polyether is synthesized in one step by mixing an initator and a catalyst at a temperature and a pressure, and then introducing same into a reaction kettle together with an epoxide at a certain ratio for ring opening polymerization. The synthesis process of the present invention realizes continuous production without the need of first synthesizing a prepolymer and then synthesizing a macromolecular monomeric polyether step by step, thereby improving the production efficiency. By separating four links, i.e. displacement, polymerization, curing and neutralization, in conventional monomeric polyether production processes, the present invention more effectively controls each of the links and increases the utilization efficiency of the reaction kettle; in addition, the process is easy to control, the structure of the product is stable, and the retention of double-bonds is high.
HYDROSILYLATION METHOD
Vinyl-functional alcohols are silylated by reaction with a hydrolysable silyl hydride compound. The starting alcohol is heated and then combined with the silyl hydride and catalyst and allowed to heat exothermically. Cooling is applied when the conversion of vinyl groups is between 90-99%. In some embodiments, specified amounts of water are present. The cooling regimen and control of water content reduces certain side reactions, leading to greater yields to desired product.
MULTIFUNCTIONALIZED POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL DERIVATIVE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
Disclosed are a multifunctionalized polyethylene glycol derivative and a preparation method therefor. The derivative has an H-shaped structure as represented by formula (1) and comprises one linear core LPEG and four PEG branch chains, where n.sub.1, n.sub.2, n.sub.3, and n.sub.4 respectively are the degrees of polymerization of the branch chains, U.sub.1 and U.sub.2 are trivalent branching groups connecting the core LPEG to two of the PEG branch chains, F.sub.1 and F.sub.2 contain a functional group or a protected form R.sub.01 thereof and may or may not contain a branched group G, correspondingly, the number of R.sub.01 is one or more, F.sub.1 and F.sub.2 are either identical or different, any one linking group in the molecule or any linking group formed with an adjacent heteroatom group can either remain stable or be degraded, and any one PEG segment in the molecule is discretely polydispersed or monodispersed. The multifunctional polyethylene glycol is flexible and diverse in terms of branch structures and the lengths of branching arms, has various parameters and performance indicators that are adjustable and easy to control, and has a broad applicability.
