USE OF AN ACTIVATED CARROT FIBER FOR PRODUCING PRODUCTS
The present invention relates to the use of an activated carrot fiber for preparing products in the food or non-food area. The invention also relates to products containing the activated carrot fiber.
Polymer composite comprising an interfacially modified fiber and particle
Embodiments herein relate to a composite material including about 10 to 80 wt. % of a polymer phase, the polymer phase comprising a thermoplastic polymer with a density of less than about 1.9 g-m-2; and about 20 to 90 wt. % of a dispersed mixed particulate phase, the dispersed mixed particulate phase comprising a mixed particulate and about 0.005 to 8 wt. % of a coating of at least one interfacial modifier. The mixed particulate including a portion of a reinforcing fiber and a portion of a particle. The composite material having a Young's modulus of greater than 700 MPa. In various embodiments, structural building components made from the composite are included as well as additive manufacturing components made from the composite. Other embodiments are also included herein.
COMPOSITE POLYMER
A composition comprising 10 to 50 wt% wood pulp fiber and 45 to 85 wt% thermoplastic polymer wherein the dilution level for detection in a bag at 40° C. is equal to or less than 450 as determined by ASTM E679.
Plant-Based Fibrous Product For Thermoforming
A fibrous product for use in a variety of applications. The fibrous product particularly well suited for use in thermoforming 3-D articles such as food packaging, automotive parts, and electronic packaging. The fibrous product can be biodegradable, recyclable, and compostable. The fibrous product can contain a first plant fiber that is a non-wood fiber.
Laminated wood polymer composite article and method of making a laminated wood polymer composite article
A laminated composite article having a core component and laminate sheet. The laminate sheet is disposed and overlying at least a portion of the core component. The laminate sheet includes a wear layer and an ink layer. The laminate sheet includes UV absorbers. The UV absorbers are arranged and disposed to provide ink stability to the ink layer. Methods for forming the laminated composite article are also disclosed.
Articles made from lipophilic-rich cellulosic material and methods therefor
The invention relates to systems and techniques for manufacturing articles containing cellulosic material, a tackifier, and a binder, and related processes of making and using the cellulosic articles. In particularly exemplary embodiments, the manufactured articles are door skins, sometimes known as door facings, and doors made from the door skins. The article contains a lipophilic cellulosic material, a tackifier, and a binder.
Molded article
The present disclosure relates to a molded article provided with a resin part formed with a thermoplastic resin composition containing 5 to 70 parts by mass of cellulose based on 100 parts by mass of the thermoplastic resin and containing an organic peroxide, wherein a tensile strength of a resin molded body formed with the thermoplastic resin composition measured in accordance with JIS K 7161 is 40 MPa or more.
Cutting-edge structures and method of manufacturing cutting-edge structures
A novel cutting-edge structure and method and apparatus for manufacturing the cutting-edge structure is provided. The cutting-edge structure is comprised of naturally derived or renewable material at greater than 50% by volume fraction. In one embodiment, the naturally derived material is a cellulose nanostructure such as a cellulose nanocrystal. The cellulose nanocrystal is processed using a base or mold structure to provide a cutting edge of any shape such as linear or circular edge structures. The process includes dual cure steps to produce an optimal cutting-edge structure without shrinkage. The formed cutting-edge structure can be utilized as a razor blade as it is formed with very sharp tip and edge suitable for cutting hair. The base structure can form one or more cutting-edge structures simultaneously.
Biodegradable composite material having improved mechanical properties using natural polymer nanofiber aqueous dispersion and method of producing the same
A biodegradable composite material which is produced by polymerizing a mixture of an aqueous dispersion of a natural polymer nanofiber including any one or more of a chitin nanofiber and a cellulose nanofiber, a dicarboxylic acid or a derivative thereof, and a diol. The biodegradable composite material has excellent biodegradable and mechanical properties.
REPULPABLE AND RECYCLABLE COMPOSITE PACKAGING ARTICLES AND RELATED METHODS
A reusable, fiber containing pulp product is described that is highly suited for use in the manufacture of paper products. The reusable, fiber containing pulp product provides a mixture of fibers and small, dense polymer/particle fragments. The polymer/particle fragments within the reusable, fiber containing pulp product have a size range and density that facilitates efficient removal of the polymer/particle fragments using pressure screens.
