The present invention comprises a novel device with the combined functionality of (1) a piece of furniture and (2) a volumetric light display system, depending on its mode. The third key component of the invention is an actuation system, allowing the invention to change its functionality between that of a piece of furniture and that of a volumetric light display system, achieved by physically moving the device or a portion of the device through space. Such an actuation system is comprised of any number of controllers and powered actuators or actuation subsystems to enable the device to change between a furniture mode and a volumetric light display system mode.

Some implementations of a table system can include a protective member that is positionable below a table to provide protection to both a table and chairs. The protective member can extend lateral beyond a peripheral edge of the table top, for example, to protect the table and accessory furniture while allowing the table top and the peripheral edge of the table top to remain exposed.

This invention provides a multifunctional lifting table, and the multifunctional lifting table includes a tabletop, an outer frame, an inner frame, and a lifting mechanism. The tabletop includes a tabletop main body and a solar panel, and the solar panel is embedded into the tabletop main body. The solar panel has at least one output interface, and the output interface is located at one side of the tabletop main body. The inner frame supports the tabletop, the outer frame has a containing space therein, and the inner frame is embedded into the containing space of the outer frame. A furniture system includes an elongated chase having a body extending from a first end to a second end. The body has an upper surface and a lower surface. A first leg is coupled to the lower surface of the body and a second leg is coupled to the lower surface of the body and spaced apart from the first leg. Power cables are positioned within a cavity of the body, the power cables configured to connect to a building's power supply. A modular power unit is coupled to the lower surface of the body.
