Coated polyester film with a permanent antifog coating and transparency of at least 93 %
The present invention relates to a coated polyester film equipped on at least one side with permanent antifog coating. The film of the invention is suitable for the production of greenhouse blinds, and has specific transparency properties, permanent antifog properties and high UV resistance. The invention further relates to processes for the production of the polyester film of the invention, and also to use thereof.
HIGHLY DURABLE ANTIFOGGING COATING FILM AND COATING COMPOSITION
The present invention pertains to a coating film, and more particularly, to an antifogging coating film having excellent antifogging properties, ability to retain antifogging properties, and water resistance. The coating film according to the present invention contains a metal oxide (A) and a hydrophilic compound (B), wherein the elemental concentration ratio (C1s/M), which is between the element C and a metal element and which is obtained from a metal (M) spectrum derived from the metal oxide and a C1s spectrum in an elemental analysis of the surface using XPS, is within the range of 0.2-10. The relative elemental concentration of the element C obtained from a C1s spectrum derived from carbon-oxygen bonds and/or carbon-nitrogen bonds in elemental analysis of the surface using XPS may be within the range of 5-50 atomic %. The metal oxide may be colloidal silica. The coating film according to the present invention can be particularly preferably used as an antifogging coating film and a coating film for automotive exterior parts.
COATING COMPOSITION
A coating formed on a surface of a base material, the coating composition containing an ionic polymer (a), a hygroscopic agent (b) and a solvent, the hygroscopic agent (b) being a granular crosslinked product of a monovalent metal salt of a poly(meth)acrylic acid and being contained in an amount of 75 to 700 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the ionic polymer (a), and the coating having a haze of 5% or less and a maximum surface roughness Ra (JIS B-0601-1994) of 0.1 m or less.
Peelable polyester film, use thereof and process for production thereof
A transparent peelable polyester film is provided having a base layer (B) with first and second surfaces. A layer (C) is applied on the base layer (B). A heat-sealable layer (A), peelable to APET AND RPET, is applied on the opposing surface of the base layer (B). The heat-sealable and peelable outer layer (A) is formed from (a) from 85 to 99% by weight of polyester and (b) from 1 to 15% by weight of other substances. The polyester is formed from 25 to 95 mol % of units derived from at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid and from 5 to 75 mol % of units derived from at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and the polyester includes at least 10 mol % of units derived from linear or branched diols having more than 2 and the layer (C) includes crosslinked acrylate and/or methacrylate-based copolymers.
ANTIFOG-FILM-ATTACHED RESIN SUBSTRATE, ANTIFOG-FILM-ATTACHED TRANSPARENT ARTICLE, AND COATING LIQUID
The present invention provides an antifog-film-attached resin substrate that includes: a resin substrate; and an antifog film on a surface of the resin substrate, wherein the antifog film includes: a silane coupling agent and/or a cross-linked structure derived from the silane coupling agent; a water-absorbing polymer; a polyether-modified siloxane; and a C.sub.2-C.sub.8 diol. The silane coupling agent includes: a silane coupling agent A; and a silane coupling agent B and/or a silane coupling agent C. The silane coupling agent A has an amino group, a silicon atom, and a C.sub.1-C.sub.3 hydrocarbon group bonded to the amino group and the silicon atom, the silane coupling agent B has an amino group, a silicon atom, and a C.sub.4 or more hydrocarbon group bonded to the amino group and the silicon atom, and the silane coupling agent C is a polymer having a plurality of amino groups.
ANTIFOG-FILM-ATTACHED RESIN SUBSTRATE, ANTIFOG-FILM-ATTACHED TRANSPARENT ARTICLE, AND COATING LIQUID
The present invention provides an antifog-film-attached resin substrate that includes: a resin substrate; and an antifog film on a surface of the resin substrate, wherein the antifog film includes: a silane coupling agent and/or a cross-linked structure derived from the silane coupling agent; a water-absorbing polymer; a polyether-modified siloxane; and a C.sub.2-C.sub.8 diol. The silane coupling agent includes: a silane coupling agent A; and a silane coupling agent B and/or a silane coupling agent C. The silane coupling agent A has an amino group, a silicon atom, and a C.sub.1-C.sub.3 hydrocarbon group bonded to the amino group and the silicon atom, the silane coupling agent B has an amino group, a silicon atom, and a C.sub.4 or more hydrocarbon group bonded to the amino group and the silicon atom, and the silane coupling agent C is a polymer having a plurality of amino groups.
METHOD FOR PREPARING AN OXIDE FILM ON A POLYMERIC SUBSTRATE
Various embodiments refer to a method for preparing an oxide film on a polymeric substrate, wherein the oxide film is a titanium oxide film (which is optionally niobium- or silicon-doped) or silicon oxide film. The method comprises contacting a polymeric substrate with a liquid reagent comprising a polyalkoxysilane such as 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane to form a layer of the polyalkoxysilane on the polymeric substrate by self-assembly, and contacting said layer with an aqueous mixture comprising (i) titanium tetrafluoride and/or a fluorine-containing titanium complex such as ammonium hexafluorotitanate and/or a fluorine-containing silicon complex such as ammonium hexafluorosilicate, and (ii) a fluorine scavenger such as boric acid, at a temperature of less than about 100 C. to obtained the oxide film on the polymeric substrate. An oxide film prepared by said method is also provided.
ANTIFOG FILM WITH PEELABLE FUNCTIONALITY
The present invention provides a multilayer polymeric film structure having an outer layer that is adhered to an inner layer. The inner layer comprises a blown film and may be coated with a peelable antifog coating. In some embodiments, the antifog coating comprises ethyl alcohol and nitrocellulose. The external and inner layers may be bonded together with an adhesive layer. The film structure may be configured to hold a food product such as produce, meat, and/or cheese.
HYDROPHOBIC EXTENDERS IN NON-FLUORINATED SURFACE EFFECT COATINGS
The present invention relates to a coated article comprising a partial or complete durable non-fluorinated coating on the surface of an article, wherein the coating comprises 5 to 95% by weight of a hydrophobic compound, and 5 to 95% by weight of a surface effect agent, both based on the total solids weight of the coating, where the hydrophobic compound is selected from a hydrophobic cyclic or acyclic alcohol.
HYDROPHOBIC COMPOUND EXTENDERS IN SURFACE EFFECT COATINGS
The present invention relates to a coated article comprising a partial or complete coating on the surface of an article, wherein the coating comprises 21 to 79% by weight of a hydrophobic compound, and 21 to 79% by weight of a surface effect agent, both based on the total solids weight of the coating, where the hydrophobic compound is selected from a hydrophobic cyclic or acyclic alcohol.
