Molybdenum monoxide layers, and production thereof using PVD
The invention relates to a coating comprising at least one molybdenum-containing layer having molybdenum oxide, said molybdenum being essentially molybdenum monoxide. The invention further relates to a PVD process for producing the disclosed coating, in which the layer comprising the molybdenum monoxide is produced using arc evaporation. The invention also relates to a component that has said coating.
HEAT-RESISTANT SYNTHETIC RESIN MICROPOROUS FILM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Provided are a heat-resistant synthetic resin microporous film that has both good heat resistance and good mechanical strength and exhibits a suppressed decrease in mechanical strength over time, and a method for producing the heat-resistant synthetic resin microporous film. The heat-resistant synthetic resin microporous film of the present invention includes a synthetic resin microporous film, and a coating layer formed on at least part of the surface of the synthetic resin microporous film and containing a polymer of a polymerizable compound having two or more radically polymerizable functional groups per molecule. The maximum thermal shrinkage rate of the heat-resistant synthetic resin microporous film when heated from 25° C. to 180° C. at a temperature rising rate of 5° C./min is 15% or less. The piercing strength thereof is 0.6 N or more. The rate of retention of the piercing strength after heating at 70° C. for 168 hours is 85% or more.

HIERARCHICAL SILICA LAMELLA FOR MAGNETIC NUCLEIC ACID EXTRACTIONS
Disclosed herein is a novel method to fabricate magnetic silica nanomembranes using thin polymer cores based on silica deposition and self-wrinkling induced by thermal shrinkage. These micro- and nano-scale structures have vastly enlarged the specific area of silica, thus the magnetic silica nanomembranes can be used for solid phase extraction of nucleic acids. The magnetic silica nanomembranes are suitable for nucleic acid purification and isolation and demonstrated better performance than commercial particles in terms of nucleic acid recovery yield and integrity. In addition, the magnetic silica nanomembranes may have high nucleic acid capacity due to significantly enlarged specific surface area of silica. Methods of use and devices comprising the magnetic silica nanomembranes are also provided herein.

RESIN FILM, BARRIER FILM, ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE FILM, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
Provided is a resin film having excellent size stability in a high-temperature environment. A resin film formed of a resin containing an alicyclic structure-containing polymer having crystallizability, wherein an absolute value of a thermal size change ratio when the film is heated at 150° C. for 1 hour is 1% or less in any in-plane direction of the film. The alicyclic structure-containing polymer may preferably be a hydrogenated product of a ring-opened polymer of dicyclopentadiene. Also provided is a method for producing the resin film including a step of relaxing strain of the crystallized film while the crystallized. film is kept flat.
