Resin beads, method for producing resin beads, and product using resin beads
The present invention provides resin beads that can provide various types of products, such as a cosmetic having excellent tactile impression, spreadability on the skin, and transparency, that can be substituted for resin particles composed of a synthetic material derived from petroleum, and that have favorable biodegradability, and the present invention also provides various types of products, such as a cosmetic using the resin beads. The resin beads are formed with a resin containing cellulose as a main component. The resin beads have a cumulative 50% particle size on a volume basis of 50 m or smaller, a degree of sphericity of 0.7 to 1.0, a degree of surface smoothness of 70 to 100%, a degree of solidity of 50 to 100%, and a biodegradation rate for 5 days, as measured in accordance with JIS K6950:2000 (ISO 14851:1999), of 20% or more, and the content of the cellulose in the resin is 90 to 100% by mass. In addition, the present invention provides a product of any one of a cosmetic, a dermatological preparation, a paint, a shaped article, a film, a coating agent, and a resin composition which contain the resin beads.
Cellulose ester and impact modifier compositions and articles made using these compositions
A cellulose ester composition is provided comprising at least one cellulose ester and at least one impact modifier and optionally at least one plasticizer. Processes for producing the cellulose ester compositions as well as articles made using these compositions, such as eyeglass frames, automotive parts, and toys are also provided.
Cellulose ester optical films
Regioselectively substituted cellulose esters having a plurality of aryl-acyl substituents and a plurality of alkyl-acyl substituents are disclosed along with methods for making the same. Such cellulose esters may be suitable for use in optical films, such as optical films having certain Nz values, A optical films, and/or +C optical films. Optical films prepared employing such cellulose esters have a variety of commercial applications, such as, for example, as compensation films in liquid crystal displays and/or waveplates in creating circular polarized light used in 3-D technology.
POROUS RESIN MOLDED BODY AND MOLDING SET FOR FORMING POROUS RESIN MOLDED BODY
A porous resin molded body contains cellulose acylate (A), wherein the porous resin molded body has a porosity of about 2% or more and about 30% or less.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MAKING LIGHT-BLOCKING ARTICLES
A method is designed to prepare foamed, opacifying elements each having a target light blocking value (LBV.sub.T) of at least 3, using a textile fabric substrate with a light blocking value (LBV.sub.S). The LBV.sub.T-S difference is calculated; a foamable aqueous composition is chosen; a dry coating weight for the foamable aqueous composition (when foamed) is determined to form a single dry opacifying layer that is foamed, dried, and densified to provide a dry thickness at least 20% less than the original dry thickness. The single dry opacifying layer a has light blocking value that is equal to LBV.sub.T-S, 15%. The desired foamable aqueous composition can be chosen from a set of similar compositions to achieve the desired LBV.sub.T with the noted textile fabric substrate using suitable mathematical formula relating dry coating weight to light blocking value and a suitable data processor.
