COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THERMOSET FOAMS FOR SHOE SOLES
A footwear article is provided. The footwear article includes a shoe sole. The shoe sole includes a crosslinked foam polyolefin elastomer having a density less than 0.88 g/cm.sup.3, the crosslinked foam polyolefin elastomer including: a silane-grafted polyolefin elastomer, a silane-grafted olefin block copolymer, a polyolefin elastomer (POE), an olefin block copolymer (OBC), or a combination thereof; an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer; a crosslinker; a condensation catalyst; and a foaming agent. The shoe sole exhibits a compression set of from about 1.0% to about 50.0%, as measured according to ASTM D 395 (48 hrs @ 50° C.).
CROSSLINKED POLYOLEFIN FOAM
A crosslinked polyolefin foam that is a crosslinked foam of a polyolefin resin composition, the composition comprising a polyolefin resin (A) and a rubber (B) having a Mooney viscosity (ML.sub.1+4, 100° C.) of 15 to 85. The rubber (B) is contained in an amount of 10 to 150 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the polyolefin resin (A). The foam has a thickness of 1.5 mm or more, a 25% compressive hardness of 60 kPa or less, and a crosslinking degree of at least one of surface layers at both surfaces with a depth of 500 μm from the surface that is at least 5% higher than the crosslinking degree of the middle layer excluding the both surface layers.
Compositions comprising thermoplastic vulcanizate, foamed material and articles made therefrom
The present disclosure relates to a composition comprising a thermoplastic vulcanizate, a propylene-based elastomer and a foaming agent, and to a foamed material comprising said composition. The foamed material has increased tensile properties and tension set while attaining comparable effects of reduction of weight.
EXPANDED POLYPROPYLENE RESIN PARTICLE
An expanded polypropylene resin particle includes a polypropylene resin composition that serves as a base material resin. The polypropylene resin composition includes a first polypropylene resin having a melting point of 140° C. or less, a second polypropylene resin having a melting point of 145° C. or more, and a polyethylene resin having a melting point of 120° C. to 135° C. The first polypropylene resin accounts for 50 to 75 weight %, the second polypropylene resin accounts for 25 to 50 weight %, and the polyethylene resin accounts for 1 to 10 weight %, wherein the weight % is based on a total amount of the first polypropylene resin, the second polypropylene resin, and the polyethylene resin.

An expanded polypropylene resin particle is obtained from a base material resin having a melting point of 140° C. to 150° C., wherein the base material resin includes a polypropylene resin A including 3 weight % to 15 weight % of 1-butene and having a melting point of 130° C. to 140° C.; and a polypropylene resin B having a melting point of 145° C. to 165° C., and wherein the expanded polypropylene resin particle has an average cell diameter of 100 μm to 340 μm.
EXPANDED BEAD AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
An expanded bead having a tubular shape with a through hole and a method for producing the same are provided. The expanded bead includes a foamed core layer and a covering layer. A polyolefin-based resin included in the covering layer has a melting point lower than a melting point of a polypropylene-based resin included in the foamed core layer. An average hole diameter d of the through hole of the expanded bead is less than 1 mm, and a ratio d/D of the average hole diameter d to an average outer diameter D of the expanded bead is 0.4 or less. The polypropylene-based resin for the foamed core layer has a flexural modulus of 1,200 MPa or more and a melting point of 158° C. or lower.
FOAM, LAMINATE, AND FORMED PRODUCT
The present invention relates to a foam having a density of 0.036 g/cc or more and less than 0.133 g/cc, having an elongation (%) at break at 160° C. of 150% or more as measured in accordance with JIS K6251, a value of 7 or more obtained by multiplying the elongation (%) at break by a 100% modulus (MPa) at 160° C. as measured in accordance with JIS K6251, and a cross-linking degree of 30 to 50%.
THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION AND MOLDED PRODUCT OBTAINED THEREFROM
This invention relates to a thermoplastic elastomer composition having a type A hardness (i.e., the momentary value) of 55 or less in accordance with JIS K6253, which comprises 35 to 65 parts by weight of an olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer (A) having a type A hardness (i.e., the momentary value) of 75 or less in accordance with JIS K6253 and 65 to 35 parts by weight of a styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer (B) having a type A hardness (i.e., the momentary value) of 60 or less in accordance with JIS K6253 (with the total amount of components (A) and (B) being 100 parts by weight) and a molded thermoplastic elastomer product obtained via molding of such composition.

Masterbatch compositions comprising encapsulated stannous chloride for use in the production of thermoplastic vulcanizates, and methods related thereto. For example, the present disclosure provides for a composition comprising stannous chloride powder encapsulated in a carrier compound, the carrier compound being solid at a temperature in the range of 15.5° C. to 260° C. (60° F. to 500° F.).
