Provided is a hollow particle, including silica, having a D.sub.SL of primary particles that satisfies the following expression (1), and having a breaking strength of 10 MPa or more: 1≤D.sub.SL≤1.5 . . . (1) where D.sub.SL=D.sub.75L/D.sub.25L, and D.sub.25L and D.sub.75L represent a 25th value and a 75th value, respectively, when long diameters of 100 randomly selected primary particles are measured in observation with a scanning electron microscope and sorted in order of increasing size.
GRAPHENE AS ADDITIVE FOR RUBBER COMPOUNDS AND PRODUCTS
The introduction of graphene as an additive in rubber compounds is disclosed. The product shows increased barrier protection for tire innerliners, with no tradeoffs in other characteristics. A rubber compound is disclosed herein including butyl rubber and graphene plate, wherein the graphene plate has a thickness of less than about 3.2 nm, a particle size of between about 50 nm and about 10 μm, and contains greater than about 95% carbon.
Precipitated calcium carbonate for reducing emissions of volatile organic compounds
Use of a porous precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) to retain volatile organic compounds (VOCs), a method of reducing emission of VOCs from a composition, the method comprising adding a porous PCC to the composition, said compositions such as polymer compositions and methods of making said compositions.
Isocyanate functional adhesive which bonds primerless to silanated acrylic polyol based coatings
Disclosed is a composition including one or more isocyanate functional prepolymers; one or more catalysts for the reaction of isocyanate moieties and active hydrogen containing moieties; one or more mercapto silanes; one or more amino silanes, isocyanato silanes or a mixture thereof; one or more reinforcing fillers comprising one or more high surface area carbon blacks; one or more untreated calcium carbonates; one or more polyisocyanates having an isocyanate functionality of about 2 or greater; and one or more linear plasticizers. Preferably, the isocyanate functional prepolymer is prepared in the presence of at least a portion of the linear plasticizer. Preferably, the isocyanate functional polymer is prepared in the presence of a dialkyl malonate. The composition may be one-part adhesive composition. Also disclosed are methods of applying the compositions to substrates. The composition bonds primerlessly to hard to bond to coatings, such as coatings prepared from compositions including a silanated component, such as a silanated acrylopolyols, or having silica clusters.
Tire Having Tread Of Specified Rubber Composition And Related Methods
Disclosed herein are tires having a tread having stiffness made from a rubber composition of specified ingredients including an elastomer component, a resin component including a terpene phenol resin having a specified hydroxyl value and a DCPD-based resin, a filler component including reinforcing silica filler and carbon black, optionally a liquid plasticizer, and a cure package. Also disclosed are methods for stiffness in a tire tread by using a resin component comprising a terpene phenol resin having a specified hydroxyl value and a DCPD-based resin in a rubber composition comprising an elastomer component, a filler component including reinforcing silica filler and carbon black, optionally a liquid plasticizer, and a cure package.
POLYPROPYLENE POLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND ARTICLES MADE FROM THE SAME
A polymer composition comprises a polypropylene polymer and a salt of a branched alkyl phosphonic acid.
SEALANT COMPOSITION
A one-part low modulus room temperature vulcamsable (RTV) silicone composition comprising a titanate and/or zirconate catalyst which cures to a low modulus silicone elastomer which has a good adhesion profile and may be used as a non-staining (clean) sealant having high movement capability which compositions contains an aminosilane adhesion promoter having two hydroxyl or hydrolysable groups per molecule in an amount of 0.1-3.75% by weight of the composition.
THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE SILICONE HEAT DISSIPATION MATERIAL
A thermally conductive silicone heat dissipating material contains a silicone polymer, a thermally conductive inorganic filler, and a heat resistance improver. The thermally conductive inorganic filler has a BET specific surface area (A.sub.BET) of 0.3 m.sup.2/g or more and is surface treated with a surface treatment agent expressed by Si(OR′).sub.4 or R.sub.xSi(OR′).sub.4−x (where R represents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, R′ represents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and x represents an integer of 1 to 2). The content of the thermally conductive inorganic filler is 100 to 10000 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the silicone polymer. The thermally conductive inorganic filler having a large specific surface area and a small average particle size is surface treated with a silane coupling agent with a low molecular weight, so that the heat resistance of the thermally conductive silicone heat dissipating material is improved.
