A polymer composition comprising (i) at least 70 wt% of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) homopolymer or copolymer having a density of 905 to 935 kg/m.sup.3 (ISO 1183-2) and an MFR.sub.2 of 0.1 to 10 g/10 min (ISO1133 at 190° C., 2.16 kg); (ii) 0.5 to 20 wt % of a high density polyethylene (HDPE) having a density of 940 kg/m.sup.3 or more and an MFR.sub.2 of 0.1 to 50 g/10 min; and (iii) 0.05 to 10 wt% of an aliphatic, preferably alkyl, functional inorganic nanoparticle filler.

The present invention relates to a multimodal ethylene copolymer composition having a density of 920 to 949 kg/m.sup.3 and a flexural modulus, wherein said flexural modulus is following the equation: Flexural modulus [MPa]<21.35.Math.density [kg/m3]−19585 [1]. The multimodal ethylene copolymer composition according to the invention can be used in a highly flexible cable jacket, preferably a power cable jacket.

Crosslinkable polymeric compositions comprising an ethylene-based polymer, an organic peroxide, and an amine-functionalized interpolymer. Such crosslinkable polymeric compositions and their crosslinked forms can be employed as polymeric layers in wire and cable applications, such as insulation in power cables.

INSULATED WIRE

An insulated wire includes a conductor, and a flame-retardant insulation layer that includes a resin composition including a flame retardant and is arranged around the conductor, and a water-blocking layer that is arranged around the flame-retardant insulation layer and has a water absorption of not more than 0.5% at saturation. The thickness of the water-blocking layer is not less than 25 μm.

REACTIVE COMPOUNDING OF ETHYLENE VINYL ACETATE

The present invention provides a method for producing an at least partially crosslinked polymer composition, having a first melt index (MI) value and a first tensile strength, comprising the steps of: a. providing an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer, the EVA copolymer having a second MI value and a second tensile strength and containing at least 30 wt % units derived from vinyl acetate, b. adding from 0.01 to 0.03 wt % of an organic peroxide, wherein the organic peroxide is diluted in 0.001 to 0.05 wt % of white oil, and c. blending the EVA copolymer and the organic peroxide at a temperature sufficient to initiate crosslinking. The first MI value of the at least partially crosslinked polymer composition is less than 5 g/10 min (190° C., 2.16 kg).
