Items of furniture and methods of manufacturing, packaging, and assembling them
Disclosed herein are assembled and unassembled items of furniture and methods of fabricating the components of items of furniture, methods of packaging the components of items of furniture, and methods of assembling items of furniture. The disclosed items of furniture have at least two legs and a working portion comprising two overhangs and a top with an upper surface and a lower surface. Some embodiments also include a back portion. Each leg has a lower portion and an upper portion that meet at an interface. The lower portion resides below the lower surface, and the upper portion resides above the lower surface. Each leg extends through the top through a hole that has a perimeter that is smaller than the perimeter of the lower portion at the interface and larger than the perimeter of the upper portion at the interface.
PANELS COMPRISING A MECHANICAL LOCKING DEVICE AND AN ASSEMBLED PRODUCT COMPRISING THE PANELS
A set of panels includes a first panel having a first main plane and a second panel having a second main plane. The panels are provided with a mechanical locking device for locking a first edge of the first panel to a second edge of the second panel. The mechanical locking device includes an edge groove at the first edge, wherein an edge tongue of the second edge is insertable into the edge groove. A flexible tongue is arranged in an insertion groove provided in the edge section groove, and cooperates with a tongue groove provided at the edge section of the second panel. The first and the second panels are locked at a junction plane which is extending between the first main plane and the second main plane. The first edge comprises an edge tongue that extends from the junction plane.
COMPOSED ELEMENT, MULTI-LAYERED BOARD AND PANEL-SHAPED ELEMENT FOR FORMING THIS COMPOSED ELEMENT
A composed element includes at least two panel-shaped elements, which each have an edge zone in which coupling means are present in a profiled part respectively extending in the longitudinal direction of the respective edge zone, and each including an end face extending transversely to the respective edge zone. The profiled parts allow the coupling of the panel-shaped elements together in an interlocking manner. At least one of the panel-shaped elements includes an arrangement which hides from view at least a portion of the profiled part formed at the pertaining edge zone at the location of the end face.
AUTOMATED ASSEMBLY
A method of assembling a set of panels, to obtain an assembled product, including connecting a first edge of a first panel, with a first main plane, to a first edge of a second panel, with a second main plane, including arranging a third panel with a third main plane perpendicular to the first main plane, arranging a first edge of the third panel at a second edge of the second panel and arranging the third main plane with a second angle in relation to the second main plane; connecting the first edge of the third panel to the second edge of the second panel, by displacing the third panel and/or the second panel; and connecting a second edge of the third panel to a second edge of the first panel and connecting the first edge of the third panel to the second edge of the second panel.
MODULAR SHELVING
A method and system to create a modular shelving or storage unit. Different pieces are provided which are configured to be joined together (by sliding) without using any adhesive and can form a box. A plurality of boxes can then be joined together by sliding them together to form a plurality of joined boxes. As such, a custom, modular shelf can be easily constructed by a user simply by joining the pieces which are already provided to him/her. In this manner, custom shelfs can be easily constructed which would fit most any area of physical space.
Assembled product and a method of assembling the assembled product
An assembled product includes at least three elements arranged in three different planes. A first element is connected perpendicular to a second element, and a third element is connected perpendicular to the second element. The assembled product includes one or more locking devices, each comprising a flexible tongue arranged in an insertion groove one of the at least three elements. The flexible tongue cooperates with a tongue groove, at an adjacent one of the at least three elements, for locking the one element and the adjacent element together. A second edge of the second element is connected to a second edge of the third element by a first of said locking devices.
Composed element, multi-layered board and panel-shaped element for forming this composed element
Composed element including at least two panel-shaped elements, which each have an edge zone in which coupling means are present in the form of a profiled part respectively extending in the longitudinal direction of the respective edge zone, as well as each including an end face extending transversely to the respective edge zone, wherein said profiled parts allow coupling the panel-shaped elements together in an interlocking manner, wherein at least one of the panel-shaped elements includes an arrangement which hides from view at least a portion of the profiled part formed at the pertaining edge zone at the location of the end face.
Set of panels with a mechanical locking device
A set including a first panel, a second panel and a mechanical locking device for locking the first panel to the second panel. The first panel includes a first edge surface and a first panel surface, and the second panel includes a second edge surface and a second panel surface. The first edge surface is facing the second panel surface in a locked position of the first and the second panel. The mechanical locking device includes a rod-shaped element at the first edge surface and an insertion groove at the second panel surface and an edge groove at the second edge surface and a flexible tongue positioned in the edge groove. The rod-shaped element includes a recess and is configured to be inserted into the insertion groove. The flexible tongue is configured to cooperate with the recess for a locking of the first panel to the second panel.
Fasteners, systems, and methods for wood construction
A system for fastening a first wooden member to a second wooden member includes a tenon configured to couple to the first wooden member such that the tenon extends from the first wooden member. The tenon has a first hole, a second hole, and a third hole. A first fastener extends through the first hole of the tenon and secures the tenon to the first wooden member. A second fastener extends through the second hole of the tenon and secures the tenon to the first wooden member. A third fastener extends through the second wooden member and is received into the third hole of the tenon to thereby secure the first wooden member to the second wooden member. The third fastener can be removed to thereby disconnect the first wooden member from the second wooden member repeatedly without aesthetic damage or loss of structural integrity.
Panels comprising a mechanical locking device and an assembled product comprising the panels
A set of panels including a first panel, a second, and a locking device. The locking device includes an edge groove at the first edge and a tongue groove at the second edge. The edge groove includes a flexible tongue arranged in an insertion groove at a first side of the edge groove. The edge groove includes a first groove surface at a first side of the insertion groove and a second groove surface at a second side of the insertion groove. The second edge includes a first edge surface at a first side of the tongue groove and a second edge surface at a second side of the tongue groove. The locking device is configured to be unlocked by inserting a tool in the tongue groove. The first groove surface is arranged offset in a second direction relative to the second groove surface by a first distance.
