Furniture member with recline and tilt

A furniture member may include a base assembly, a seat assembly, a tilt mechanism, and a recliner actuator. The seat assembly includes a seat bottom, a seatback, and a seat base frame. The seat base frame includes armrest members. The tilt mechanism includes a tilt actuator attached to the base assembly and a plurality of links. The tilt mechanism moves the seat bottom, seatback and seat base frame relative to the base assembly between upright and rearward tilt positions. The recline actuator is mounted to the seat base frame and the seat bottom and moves the seat bottom relative to the armrest members between forward and rearward positions. Movement of the seat bottom between the forward and rearward positions causes movement of the seatback relative to the seat bottom between reclined and non-reclined positions. The recline actuator and the tilt actuator are operable independently of each other.

Lift chair mechanism with zero-gravity position options

A lift and recliner mechanism for use in seating units is provided that allows the ottoman to be extended independently of the back recline. In some aspects, the seat pitch is changed through a linkage as the ottoman extends, and as the back reclines. In other aspects, the seat pitch is changed using a separate motor. The seating unit can be moved to a lifted position, a TV position, a fully-reclined position, or a zero-gravity position with the ottoman partially extended, the seat pitch partially changed and the back partially reclined.

20240041218 · 2024-02-08 ·

A system for constructing and shipping full-sized (or larger) RTA articles of furniture in a smaller volume, resulting in more efficient and dense packing of multiple articles on standard international cube shipping containers. Each full-sized or larger RTA article of furniture is constructed so that it in a partially assembled state it can be arranged and packed in a shipping box or container of 26.5 inches or less in height and 30.6 inches or less in width. Lengths may vary, but common lengths are 45 inches, 66 inches, and 90 inches. The system thus results in a substantial increase (approximately 33%) in the number of articles of furniture that can be shipped in a single standard international cube shipping container, thereby greatly reducing the shipping cost per article of furniture.
