Powder Paint Composition

Powder paint composition, processes for preparing and uses for the same. The composition includes (a) at least one polymer powder redispersible in water, (b) pigment and filler and (c) optionally further additives. Where (a) is a polymer stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol, based on (a1) 20 to 100% by weight of at least one monomer from the group consisting of acrylic esters of branched or unbranched alcohols having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, (a2) 0 to 60% by weight of at least one monomer from the group consisting of methacrylic esters of branched or unbranched alcohols having 1 to 12 carbon atoms and styrene, (a3) 0 to 40% by weight of at least one monomer from the group consisting of vinyl esters of branched or unbranched carboxylic acids having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, and (a4) 0 to 20% by weight of other ethylenically unsaturated comonomers copolymerizable therewith.

The present invention provides a curing catalyst which promotes a reaction between a hydroxyalkyl amide-based curing agent and a carboxy group-containing resin, especially curing of a carboxy group-containing resin-based powder coating material using a hydroxyalkyl amide-based curing agent, and in particular, curing of a polyester resin-based powder coating material. A curing catalyst which promotes a reaction between a carboxy group-containing resin and a compound that has a β-hydroxyalkyl amide group, said curing catalyst containing a compound that contains, as a metal atom, at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mo, Cr, V, Fe, Co, Ni, Ga, Zr, In, Ba, Ce and Bi. It is preferable that the metal atom is an Mo atom. An Al atom may be included as the metal atom.

RESIN COMPOSITION FOR POWDER COATINGS

A method comprises: dispersing a nanoparticle sol, ammonia water and a waterborne hydrophobic treatment agent in deionized water to prepare a modified nanoparticle suspension, and obtaining a superhydrophobic modified nanoparticle powder by means of a spray drying process; and adding a porous ceramic micro-powder and a waterborne silane coupling agent into deionized water, then adding the superhydrophobic modified nanoparticle powder, performing constant stirring to prepare a superhydrophobic particle impregnating porous particle suspension, and obtaining the impregnated porous powder with superhydrophobic particles by means of a filter drying process or the spray drying process.
