A macromolecule comprises a ring-opened polymerized product of β-lactone monomers of formula I:

The macromolecule may be hydroxy-terminated, and may be copolymerized with other β-lactone monomers having different substituting groups and/or with higher lactone monomers. The macromolecule may be used as a reactant to form an alkoxysilane-terminated polymer, a polyurethane, or a (co)polyester, or may be used as an elastomeric midblock in a triblock copolymer having hard end blocks, such as polylactic acid. Such triblock systems demonstrate two discreet regions having properties similar to styrene block copolymers and are therefore suitable for use as hot melt or pressure-sensitive adhesives. In some embodiments, such triblock polymers may be entirely bio-sourced and compostable.

Described herein is a reworkable optically clear adhesive composition comprising: a hot melt adhesive present in an amount of at least about 40 wt. %; a pressure sensitive adhesive present in an amount of at 5 least about 10 wt. %; and titanium dioxide nanoparticles present in an amount of up to about 5 wt. %; wherein the weight percentage of each component is based on the total weight of solids of the adhesive composition. Also described herein is a display for an electronic device comprising the reworkable optically clear adhesive composition and a method of producing the display for an 10 electronic device.

In order to produce a particularly storable and aging-stable thermosetting hot-melt adhesive varnish layer on the electrical steel strip or sheet in the B state, it is proposed for the stoichiometric ratio of the epoxy groups of the epoxy resin or epoxy resins relative to the hydrogen atoms of the at least two amino groups of the hardener that is latent at room temperature to lie in the range from 1.33:1 to 5:1.

The present invention relates to a seam tape comprising at least one layer of unidirectionally aligned fibers whereby the fibers are oriented substantially perpendicular to the length of the tape and the strength of the tape in the perpendicular direction is at least 200 N/ 2.54 cm [inch]. The fibers are selected from the group of UHMWPE, polyamide, polyester, glass or carbon fibers. Preferably the fibers are UHMWPE fibers. The seam tape may further comprise a hot melt adhesive. The hot melt adhesive preferably has a melting point which is at least 25° C. to 70° C. lower than the melting point of the fibers. The hot melt adhesive is chosen from the group consisting of thermoplastic polymers such as polyamides, co-polyamides, polyamino-amides, polyesters, polyacrylates, polymethacrylates, polyolefins, ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymers or mixtures thereof. The present invention further relates to the use of the seam tape in backpacks, packs, bags, medical gear, outdoor products, sail cloths, tents, tarps, shelters, clothing, ponchos, foul weather gear, mats, outerwear, jackets, sleeping bags, lift bags, parachutes, large kites, inflatable structures, beams, balloons, packraft, inflatable gear, liferaft, inflatable sculptures, airship (HAA: High Altitude Airships), space applications, flexible circuits and footwear, inflatables, radomes, tensioned structures, or umbrellas.

The present invention refers to a paper article comprising a paper component having a first side and a second side, wherein the first side and/or the second side of the paper component is at least partially coated with a heat-sealable coating, wherein the heat-sealable coating comprises a first polymer comprising units derived from a (meth)acrylate and/or (meth)acrylic acid and/or a salt thereof, and a second polymer, being different from the first polymer, comprising units derived from a) a (meth)acrylate and/or (meth)acrylic acid and/or a salt thereof, and b) an alkene, wherein the first polymer and the second polymer are present in the heat-sealable coating in a weight ratio of 90:10 to 35:65, and wherein the first polymer and the second polymer are present in the heat-sealable coating in an overall amount of at least 50 wt. %, based on the total weight of the coating. Furthermore, the present invention refers to a laminate comprising a paper component, a substrate and a heat-seal layer being present between the paper component and the substrate, which is obtained by heat-sealing a paper article according to the present invention to the substrate.
