An article of furniture including a base, a plurality of panels forming an outer surface of the article of furniture, and a plurality of struts for securing the panels in place. The base has an outer periphery which is securable to at least some of the panels. The base is configured for placement on a floor surface. Further, each strut has an elongated member configured for securement to at least two adjacent panels which are oriented in different planes from one another. The adjacent panels are secured to the respective struts with removable fasteners.

A furniture item includes a base portion; a pair of arms, and a back portion. The arms and back portion are configured to detachably connect to the base portion to form a seat shape capable of receiving one or more people in a seated position. The base portion, arms, and back portion further includes a connection configured so that the arms and back portion can quickly and easily connect and disconnect from the base portion. The base portion further includes an internal pocket configured to receive the un-mounted legs for storage and transport.

Disclosed are a collapsible supporting frame and furniture having a collapsible supporting frame. A frame includes first and second supporting units, and first and second bar units disposed between the first and second supporting units. Each of the first and second supporting units includes a first leg, a second leg, and one or more lateral connecting bars disposed between and fixedly connected with the first and second legs. A distal end of the first bar is rotatably connected with the first or second leg of the first supporting unit. Here is described a piece of furniture, and particularly a sofa, that comprises a base and a seat cushion. The base comprises longitudinal structures; a pair of transversal structures mounted to the longitudinal structures; arms rotatively mounted to the transversal structures; and poles mounted to the arms. The seat cushion is adapted to be laid over the base. The poles are movable between positions providing therethrough one of: an adjustable support for the seat cushion; and an adjustable slope for the seat cushion. The sofa may further comprise mounting brackets mounted inwardly to the frame, each one comprising a mounting rod. Cushions of the sofa comprise a cushion body; and a pair of mounting braces extending from the cushion body and comprising a slit in which the rod is positioned as the cushion is rotated around the rod until the cushion stands in place.

A method of packaging a convertible couch into a box includes forming a frame assembly. Forming the frame assembly includes coupling a plurality of arms, a first seat portion, a second seat portion, a first back portion, and a second back portion together. A plurality of pillows and at least one back cushion are positioned within the frame assembly. The frame assembly is positioned into the box after assembly and a divider is placed on top of the frame assembly. A first mattress roll is formed and then a second mattress roll is formed. The first mattress roll and the second mattress roll are placed on the divider in the box and the box is closed and sealed.

Method and apparatus for joining the individual pieces of modular furniture together which includes a plurality of fastening devices that align and strengthen the frame of the furniture by tightly joining abutting pieces of the modular furniture assembly together. Also included is an elongated bar which passes through the individual pieces of the back boxes forming the back of the furniture so as to align and strengthen the abutting pieces of the back boxes of the modular furniture assembly. Additionally, a plurality of spool-like devices are placed at strategic locations on the lower edges of the frame of abutting pieces of the modular furniture assembly so as to strengthen and align the frame pieces on their bottom edges.

An upholstered chair, recliner, or sofa with a frame including a pair blowmolded hollow arm rest forms, wherein frame members extend between the forms. Further components may be blowmolded such as a backrest. The arm rest forms and backrest may be reinforced with metal plates and assembled into a recliner. A furniture system implementing an internal frame in each panel pieces where the panel pieces can be easily and securely coupled together using toggle latches. Further, the toggle latches can have a safely lock to minimize and prevent accidental disassembling.
