Seat
The main cushion (3) of an automobile seat (e.g. the seat pan cushion, or a backrest cushion) is provided with a shield (2). The shield surrounds at least part of the lateral sides of the main cushion and is formed of a less compressible (i.e. harder) foam than the main cushion, such that when the seat is upholstered, creases in the upholstery are reduced/prevented and gapping is avoided.
VEHICLE SEAT
A vehicle seat includes: a cushion pad in which one or more hanging grooves into which a trim cover is inserted are formed in a sitting-person supporting surface; a wire which is provided in a bottom of the hanging groove along the hanging groove and locks the trim cover which is inserted into the hanging groove; a vibration transferring member which is buried in the cushion pad along the wire; and a vibration body which excites the vibration transferring member.

Chair assembly with upholstery covering
A chair back assembly includes a substantially rigid back frame assembly, a back shell member operably supported by the back frame assembly and including a laterally extending top portion, a laterally extending bottom portion and a pair of longitudinally extending side portion extending between the top portion and the bottom portion and cooperating therewith to define an open space therebetween, wherein the pair of side portions are substantially rigid in a lateral direction, and wherein the back shell member is substantially rigid in a lateral direction and substantially flexibly resilient in a fore-to-aft direction, and a cover having a first surface adapted to support a seated user and a second surface opposite the first surface, wherein the cover is positioned over the back shell member to cover at least a portion of the open space.
Molded surface fastener and cushion body
The molded surface fastener has a plurality of engaging regions having engaging elements and a plurality of space regions disposed between the engaging regions. Each space region has a plurality of wall pieces standing on a substrate portion and intrusion-accepted space portions which allows a foam resin material to intrude across the wall pieces in foam molding of a cushion body. By that, deformation or breakage of the engaging element in a manufacturing process can be prevented. Moreover, the molded surface fastener is firmly fixed in a state that the engaging elements are exposed.
