A wheelchair shielding device for shielding a wheelchair user from one or more of precipitation and sunlight includes a framework and a canopy. The framework is mountable to a frame of a wheelchair so that the framework extends upwardly from a rear of the wheelchair. The canopy is hingedly engaged to an upper end of the framework and is selectively positionable in a stowed configuration and a deployed configuration.
