HYDROPHOBIC FLUORESCENT CARBON QUANTUM DOT FOR MARKER APPLICATION IN HYDROCARBON LIQUIDS AND PROCESS OF PREPARATION THEREOF

The present invention relates to a process for preparation of metal free, nontoxic, hydrocarbon fuel compatible fluorescent carbon quantum dots (CQD), which act as marker as well as lubricity improver. CQDs are highly stable in non-polar hydrocarbons, at ppm level exhibit distinct fluorescent color upon irradiation with light of specific wavelength and exhibit distinct spectral properties compared to non-polar base hydrocarbons.

Fuel additive composition

A fuel additive composition comprising an anthocyanidin; an amino acid; and a catalyst. The anthocyanidin may comprise delphinidin chloride. The amino acid may comprise aspartic acid, leucine acid, glutamic acid, a non-natural amino acid, or a combination thereof. Embodiments of the present invention also relate to a method for making of fuel additive, the method comprising: providing an anthocyanidin; contacting the anthocyanidin with an amino acid to form an anthocyanidin-amino acid mixture; contacting the anthocyanidin-amino acid mixture with a catalyst. The method may further comprise contacting the anthocyanidin-amino acid mixture with ethanol and/or an acid. The method may further comprise adjusting the pH of the anthocyanidin-amino acid mixture to less than 7.

Additives for improving autoignition reactivity of hydrocarbon-based fuels

According to various aspects, an additive for a hydrocarbon-based fuel has a formula (I), in which R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3 are each independently selected from —H, —CH.sub.3, or —CH.sub.2CH.sub.3, and at least one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, or R.sub.3 is not —H. The additive improves an autoignition reactivity of the hydrocarbon-based fuel. The additive can be present in the fuel composition including the additive and the hydrocarbon-based fuel in an amount of 0.1% by volume to 5% by volume. The hydrocarbon-based fuel can comprise gasoline or diesel.

Low molecular weight amide/ester containing quaternary ammonium salts

The present technology is related to amide or ester containing quaternary ammonium salts having a hydrocarbyl substituent of number average molecular weight ranging from 300 to 750, and the use of such quaternary ammonium salts in fuel compositions to improve the water shedding performance of the fuel composition.

AN IMPROVED AMMONIA BASED FUEL FOR ENGINES

A fuel formulation comprising a sugar and ammonia solution, wherein the sugar and ammonia are present in a combined amount of greater than 70 percent by weight of the fuel formulation, and wherein the sugar comprises fructose, glucose, sucrose or a combination thereof.

A fire starter includes a casing made from a first material a first material having a first time associated therewith that defines a length of time that the casing burns after being ignited. A second material disposed in the casing has a second time associated therewith that defines a length of time that the second material burns after being ignited. An igniter, disposed in the casing and adjacent to the second material, generates a first thermal event to ignite the second material wherein the second material combusts to define a second thermal event that ignites the first material. An actuator is coupled to the igniter and is positioned outside of the casing for activating the igniter to generate the first thermal event.

Blended gasoline composition
