Gasoline product containing combustion improver and manufacturing method therefor

Provided is a gasoline product containing a combustion improver, and a method for preparing the gasoline product. The combustion improver is added to gasoline to reduce an octane number and thus an ignition point of the gasoline, so that the gasoline product can be used in a compression ignition internal combustion engine. The combustion improver-containing gasoline product is a low-octane number gasoline, and is capable of being ignited through compression by an internal combustion engine having a compression ratio in the range from 12 to 22.

High protein organic materials as fuel and processes for making the same

A process of making a fuel product from a non-combustible high protein organic material such as a biological by-product or waste material. The moisture content of the high protein organic material is mechanically reduced and dried to reduce the moisture content to less than ten percent (10%). The high protein organic material is pulverized to a particle size of less than about 2 mm. The high protein organic waste material is fed into a combustion chamber and separated during combustion such as by spraying of the high protein organic waste material within the combustion chamber. Temperature and nitrogenous hydrocarbon combustion reactions within the combustion chamber are also controlled by injection of steam within the combustion chamber.

A fuel composition for a spark-ignition internal combustion engine comprises an additive having a chemical structure comprising a 6-membered aromatic ring sharing two adjacent aromatic carbon atoms with a 6- or 7-membered saturated heterocyclic ring, the 6- or 7-membered saturated heterocyclic ring comprising a nitrogen atom directly bonded to one of the shared carbon atoms to form a secondary amine and an atom selected from oxygen or nitrogen directly bonded to the other shared carbon atom, the remaining atoms in the 6- or 7-membered heterocyclic ring being carbon. The additive increases the octane number of the fuel, thereby improving the auto-ignition characteristics of the fuel.

POLYOLEFIN-DERIVED DISPERSANTS

Ethylene-C.sub.3-C.sub.10 alpha olefin copolymers, dispersants and lubricating oils/fuel compositions incorporating dispersants, and related methods are generally described herein. The copolymer may comprise ethylene-derived units and C.sub.3-C.sub.10 alpha-olefin-derived units. The C.sub.3-C.sub.10 alpha-olefin-derived units may have a carbon number from three to ten. For example, the C.sub.3-C.sub.10 alpha-olefin-derived units may be propylene-derived units. The dispersants may be made from copolymers having low metal and/or fluorine contents.

While some triazines have low reactivity, a method and composition is described for improving their reactivity. The H.sub.2S scavenging composition and method utilizes a tertiary amine to catalyze the scavengers with slower kinetics to achieve improved results over traditional systems with the scavenger alone. A hydrogen sulfide scavenging composition comprises: a tertiary amine as a catalyst in at least one of (i) a triazine scavenger selected from the group consisting of: methyl amine, C2-C5 alkyl amine, dimethylaminopropylamine, isopropanolamine, aniline, cyclohexylamine, isobutanolamine and methoxypropylamine triazines/bisoxazolidines; or (ii) an aldehyde-based scavenger such as glyoxal.
