HEAT-CONDUCTIVE SILICONE GREASE COMPOSITION
A heat-conductive silicone grease composition comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane in an amount of 20 to 90 parts by mass, (B) a non-silicone-type organic compound in an amount of 80 to 10 parts by mass (wherein the total amount of the components (A) and (B) is 100 parts by mass) and (C) a heat-conductive inorganic filler having an average particle diameter of 0.5 to 100 m in an amount of 200 to 2,000 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the total amount of the components (A) and (B), wherein the SP value of the non-silicone-type organic compound (B) is greater than that of the organopolysiloxane (A) (i.e., (B)>(A)), the value obtained by subtracting the SP value of the component (A) from the SP value of the component (B) is greater than 2, and the viscosity of the heat-conductive silicone grease composition is 50 to 1,000 Pa.Math.s at 25 C.
NANOSHEET COMPOSITIONS AND THEIR USE IN LUBRICANTS AND POLISHING SLURRIES
Lubrication and friction reduction improves fuel efficiency and reduces energy consumption. Effective and controllable material removal results in superior surface finishing and planarization. Nanosheets are developed with specific functionalization that can be used to reduce friction and wear, improve the fluidic property, and rheological performance
The nanosheets can be from the graphite family, transition metal dichalcogenides, transition metal trichalcogenides, semiconducting chalcogenides, metal oxides, layered hydroxides, clays, ternary transition metal carbides and nitrides, and zirconium phosphates and phosphonates, and their corresponding dopants.
Tribological, rheological, and polishing applications include lubricants, viscosity modification, and chemical-mechanical planarization. The nanosheets are useful in improving efficiency and lifetime of machinery, saving energy for mechanical operations, and optimizing manufacturing processes in surface engineering.
Polyalkylene glycol-grafted polycarboxylate suspension and dispersing agent for cutting fluids and slurries
Cutting fluids for brittle materials, e.g., silicon ingot, comprise, in weight percent: A. 70-99% polyalkylene glycol (PAG), e.g., polyethylene glycol; B. 0.01-10% PAG-grafted polycarboxylate; and C. 0-30% water.
These cutting fluids are used with abrasive materials, e.g., silicon carbide (SiC), to form cutting slurries. The slurry is sprayed on the cutting tool, e.g., a wire saw, to cut a brittle work piece, e.g., a silicon ingot.
GREASE COMPOSITION
Provided herein is a grease composition capable of reducing an amount of wear in sliding parts of various members of automobiles, electrical devices, and the like. The grease composition includes a lubricant base oil, a thickener, an amide compound, and at least one of an -hydroxycarboxylic acid metal salt, and an -hydroxycarboxylic acid metal salt. The hydroxycarboxylic acid metal salts are contained in a total content of 0.1 to 2 mass % with respect to the total amount of the grease composition.
Nano-tribology compositions and related methods including hard particles
Compositions having a plurality of hard particles and a plurality of lubricant nanoparticles are disclosed. Methods of making and using the compositions are also disclosed.
Ashless or reduced ash quaternary detergents
A composition of an oil-soluble ionic detergent that does not contribute metal ions to the composition, and which comprises a quaternary non-metallic pnictogen cation and an organic anion having at least one hydrocarbyl group of sufficient length to impart oil solubility to the detergent, the detergent having a total base number (TBN) to total acid number (TAN) ratio of at least 2:1 imparts ash-free basicity to a lubricant composition.
Refractory binder system
A refractory formulation containing an anhydrous solvent, an oleophilic rheology modifier and a refractory aggregate exhibits non-thermoplastic behavior, and remains plastic and formable at temperatures in the range of 10 degrees Celsius to 180 degrees Celsius. The oleophilic rheology modifier may effectively bind with the solvent to create a gel-like structure with organic solvents with moderate to high polarity. A phyllosilicate clay that has been treated with a quaternary fatty acid amine may be used as the oleophilic rheology modifier.
Grease composition for electric power steering device, and electric power steering device
Provided are both a grease composition for an electric power steering device and an electric power steering device. The grease composition can keep a sufficiently low coefficient of friction in a sliding area between a steel and a resin over a long period, is less susceptible to being removed from the sliding area, does not cause break down of an oil film, and thus can minimize the occurrence of stick-slips. A grease composition for an electric power steering device, containing a synthetic hydrocarbon oil which exhibits a density of 0.75 to 0.95 g/cm.sup.3 at 15 C., a saturated aliphatic amide compound, boron nitride, a glycerin fatty acid partial ester, and a metal soap-based thickener; and an electric power steering device using the grease composition.
