Applicator with hydrophobic coating transferable to contacting surface
A coating composition for imparting a hydrophobic film on a target surface is provided that, includes an oil of a silicone oil or a fluoropolymer oil or a combination thereof, a resin, and a dry lubricant. A solvent is present to form a solution of the oil and resin. A coating is imparted to an applicator that in turn can transfer the coating as a hydrophobic film. The coating composition is stable and able to impart hydrophobic film even after storage for several weeks at elevated temperature. The coating composition does so through the exclusion of synthetic waxes especially including silicone waxes. A kit is also provided that includes a wiper blade having the above coating composition applied along with instructions for the securement of the wiper blade to a vehicle to impart the hydrophobic film to a vehicle windshield contacted by the wiper blade.
SILICONE GREASE COMPOSITION
The invention provides a silicone grease composition where the high friction properties are improved, with no decrease of the wear preventive characteristics. The silicone grease composition contains a thickener, a base oil containing a silicone oil in an amount of 50 mass % or more of the total mass of the base oil, and a metallic oxide with a Mohs hardness of 6 or less as a friction modifier.
Tribological system
A tribological system, including a main body and a sandwich lubrication, wherein the sandwich lubrication includes a binder-free solid lubricant layer including a solid lubricant, and a lubricant layer including a lubricant. The binder-free solid lubricant layer and the lubricant layer are present as separate layers on the main body and the mass ratio of solid lubricant to lubricant is at most 0.05:1. The solid lubricant includes polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), metal sulfide, graphite, graphene, boron nitride (hexagonal), calcium phosphate, silicate, layered silicate, or mixtures thereof.

A composition containing metal based nanoparticles (X), a polymer (Y), and a dispersion medium, the polymer (Y) being a vinyl polymer having a chain-like alkyl group having 10 to 28 carbon atoms and a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, the metal based nanoparticles (X) and the polymer (Y) being dispersed in the dispersion medium, the composition being used as an additive composition for a lubricating oil composition, an additive composition for a grease composition, a lubricating oil composition, or a grease composition.
The polymer (Y) is one or more kind selected from the group consisting of a polymer (Y1) that contains two or more kinds selected from the group consisting of a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (ya), a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (yb), and a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (yc), and a polymer (Y2) that contains a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (yb) and does not contain a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (ya) and a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (yc): monomer (ya): an olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms, monomer (yb): a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, at least one hydrogen atom of which is substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms, and monomer (yc): a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, all hydrogen atoms of which are not substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms.
Agent, oil country tubular goods, and threaded joint for oil country tubular goods
An agent for forming a solid lubricating coating film on a tightening surface of a thread portion, in which a solid lubricant is dispersed in a binder resin as a matrix component, a main component of the solid lubricant is melamine cyanurate, and an average particle diameter of the melamine cyanurate is 0.1 m or more and 10.0 m or less, the binder resin contains an alkyd resin and nitrocellulose, and the alkyd resin and nitrocellulose are contained in an amount of 85 wt % or more of the total binder resin component weight, and a total weight of the solid lubricant is 10 parts by weight or more and 100 parts by weight or less based on 100 parts by weight of a total weight of the binder resin.
Compositions for reducing friction or stiction of a surface, methods and articles comprising the same
A composition for reducing friction or stiction of a surface is disclosed. The composition comprises at least one organosilane, at least one organophosphorus, or a combination of at least one organosilane and at least one organophosphorus. The composition further comprises at least one polymer. Methods of applying the composition to a surface are also disclosed. Non-limiting examples of surfaces to which the composition can be applied include metal, metal alloys, metal oxide, glass, ceramic, or plastic substrates, and combinations thereof. Articles comprising at least one surface having been treated with the composition are also disclosed. Non-limiting examples of such articles include windows, watches and watch bands, screens, monitors, high-touch surfaces, electronic products, housing for electronics, and combinations thereof. Such articles can also exhibit enhanced hydrophobicity and/or anti-corrosion properties compared to untreated articles.
OIL-FREE WATER-BASED CUTTING FLUID
An oil-free water-based cutting fluid is disclosed. The cutting fluid comprises water, hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) particles, a dispersant, and a corrosion inhibitor. The hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) particles are hydrophilic particles having wettability in water. The hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) particle exhibits hydrophilicity solely through a heat-treatment synthesis process.
