Compositions of mono-alkyl ethers of monoanhydro-hexitols, production methods thereof and use of same
A composition of monoanhydro-hexitol monoalkyl ether isomers bearing an alkyl ether radical (OR) at C-3, C-5 or C-6 of the monoanhydro-hexitol, in which the alkyl group (R) is a linear or branched, cyclic or noncyclic hydrocarbon-based group comprising between 4 to 18 carbon atoms, the process for obtaining such a composition and the use thereof as a nonionic surfactant, emulsifier, lubricant, antimicrobial agent or dispersant.
Lubricating composition with seals compatibility
The disclosed technology relates to a lubricating composition additives that prevent or reduce seals degradation, especially in the presence of basic amine compounds which impart basicity (measured as total base number or TBN) to the lubricating composition. The lubricating composition contains (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity, (b) a basic amine compound, and (c) a 1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione compound.
LOW VISCOSITY ENGINE OILS CONTAINING ISOMERIZED PHENOLIC-BASED DETERGENTS
This disclosure generally relates to a lubricating oil composition having a HTHS viscosity at 150 C. in a range of about 1.3 to about 2.5 cP, comprising: (a) a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity having a kinematic viscosity at 100 C. in a range of 1.5 to 6.0 mm.sup.2/s; and (b) an overbased metal salt of an alkyl-substituted detergent.
PRESS-FIT LUBRICANT COMPOSITION
There is provided a press-fit lubricant composition comprising an unsaturated compound with an iodine value of 100 or more.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
The lubricating oil composition of the present invention contains a base oil, a 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol (A), and at least one compound (B) selected from a benzotriazole compound and a sorbitan compound.
Estolide compositions exhibiting high oxidative stability
Provided herein are estolide compositions having high oxidative stability, said compositions comprising at least one compound of formula: ##STR00001##
in which n is an integer equal to or greater than 0; m is an integer equal to or greater than 1; R.sub.1, independently for each occurrence, is selected from optionally substituted alkyl that is saturated or unsaturated, and branched or unbranched; R.sub.2 is selected from hydrogen and optionally substituted alkyl that is saturated or unsaturated, and branched or unbranched; and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, independently for each occurrence, are selected from optionally substituted alkyl that is saturated or unsaturated, and branched or unbranched. Also provided herein are uses for the compositions and methods of preparing the same.
Composition Containing Heterocyclic Compounds and a Method of Lubricating an Internal Combustion Engine
The present invention relates to a lubricating composition containing (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity; and(b) a compound selected from the group consisting of: (i) an ester-containing heterocycle; (ii) an amide-containing heterocycle; and (iii) a pyrimidine, wherein the ester-containing heterocycle and the amide-containing heterocycle have a hydrocarbyl group containing 6 to 40 carbon atoms. The invention further provides for a method of supplying an internal combustion engine with the lubricating composition.
FRICTION MODIFIERS WITH IMPROVED FRICTIONAL PROPERTIES AND LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THE SAME
The instant disclosure relates to lubricating compositions having improved frictional properties. The lubricating compositions include an oil of lubricating viscosity and a friction modifier that is a C.sub.10 to C.sub.14 alkenyl carboxylic acid ester of an aliphatic diol or polyol, where the double bond of the alkenyl group is within or directly attached to the longest continuous chain of the alkenyl group.
Lubricant composition for water-based compositions
A lubricant composition includes (a) a hydrocarbon oil including at least 30% wt of isoparaffins, based on the total weight of the hydrocarbon oil, and (b) an alkoxylated natural oil. A method of using the lubricant composition in a water-based composition, in particular a water-based mud, to improve the lubricity and/or to reduce the foaming properties of the water-based composition is also disclosed.
