A water-soluble metalworking fluid of the invention contains: a component (A) that is a dicarboxylic acid including a sulfide structure; a component (B) that is a polyalkylene glycol; a component (C) that is polyhydric alcohol polyalkylene oxide adducts; and a component (D) that is a monocarboxylic acid.

An electrical discharge machining oil composition of the invention includes an organic acid metal salt and a base oil, in which the organic acid metal salt is an organic acid salt of a metal having an electronegativity on Pauling scale of 2 or less, and the present composition has a volume resistivity at 80 degrees C. of 210.sup.5 T.Math.m or more and a kinematic viscosity at 40 degrees C. in a range from 0.5 mm.sup.2/s to 10 mm.sup.2/s.

An oleaginous corrosion-resistant lubricating composition comprising at least one poly-alpha olefin synthetic oil and effective amounts of metal salts of sulfonic acids metal salts of carboxylic acids, metal salts of mixtures or combinations of sulfonic and carboxylic acids, alkylated aromatic compounds as solubility modifiers, pour-point depressants, at least one antioxidant, and metal deactivator compounds.
