The present invention relates to an aqueous lubricating composition comprising at least: water, from 0.001% to 80% by weight of at least one polyalkylene glycol; and from 0.001% to 50% by weight of at least one alkoxylated, preferably ethoxylated, castor oil.

The present invention also relates to the use of an aqueous lubricating composition as lubricant in a metalworking process, in particular for reducing, indeed even preventing, the formation of gummy residues.
