A dielectric fluid is provided comprising an oil and one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of phosphite compounds. It has been discovered that addition of one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of phosphite compounds to dielectric fluids comprising oil impart a stabilizing effect that reduces, inhibits or prevents formation of stray gases in the dielectric fluid during ordinary use.

Lubricant Compositions For Direct Injection Engines

The invention is directed to a method for reducing low speed pre-ignition events in a spark-ignited direct injection internal combustion engine by supplying to the sump a lubricant composition which contains an oil of lubricating viscosity and a metal overbased detergent. The metal overbased detergent may be selected from sulfonate detergents, phenate detergents, and salicylate detergents, especially sulfonate detergents with a metal ratio of at least 5.

Aliphatic tetrahedral borate compounds for lubricating compositions

An additive for a lubricating composition includes an ionic tetrahedral borate compound which includes a cation and a tetrahedral borate anion having a boron atom, the boron atom has at least one aliphatic bidentate di-oxo ligand. The cation may be selected to provide detergent and/or dispersant and/or antioxidant properties to a lubricating composition.

Provided is a lubricating oil composition for air compressors containing a polyalkylene glycol-containing base oil (A) and a rust-preventive agent (B), wherein the content of the polyalkylene glycol is 65.0% by mass or more based on the total amount of the composition. The lubricating oil composition is excellent in oxidation stability and also in rust prevention and storage stability. Also provided are an air compressor lubricating method and an air compressor using the lubricating oil composition.

Rejuvenation and/or extension of the lifetime of frictional performance in transmission fluids

A booster additive concentrate may advantageously contain: (a) an anti-wear mixture of two or more phosphite/phosphate compounds and one or more ether/thioether compounds; (b) an ashless dispersant; (c) a calcium-containing detergent, such as an overbased calcium phenate; (d) ≥2 friction modifiers, at least one of which comprises a polyalkylene polyamine succinimide derivative; (e) optionally a corrosion inhibitor; and (f) a lubricating oil basestock. Based on these additive components, the booster additive concentrate may exhibit specific contents of B/Ca/P and may contain minimal or substantially no additional antioxidants. Lubricant compositions can be made from the booster additive concentrates and a fresh/used lubricant oil composition “diluent,” which can rejuvenate the diluent. Such lubricant compositions can have advantageous anti-shudder durability (ASD) lifetimes and other frictional properties. In particular, such concentrates/compositions can offer superior lubrication when used in vehicles with continuously variable transmissions (CVTs).
