Lubricating oil composition
The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition having fuel saving properties and providing gears and bearings with satisfactory durability, which is thus suitably used particularly for a gear system of an automobile. The lubricating oil composition a lubricating base oil comprising a mix base oil of (A) a mineral base oil having a 40 C. kinematic viscosity of 10 mm.sup.2/s or higher and 100 mm.sup.2/s or lower and (E) a mineral base oil having a 40 C. kinematic viscosity of 200 mm.sup.2/s or higher and 600 mm.sup.2/s or lower and a sulfur content of 0.3 to 0.9 percent by mass, the content of the base oil belonging to Component (B) is 15 percent by mass or more, and (C) and an organic molybdenum compound in an amount of 100 to 1000 ppm by mass as molybdenum, the lubricating oil composition having a 40 C. kinematic viscosity of 90 mm.sup.2/s or lower.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
A lubricating oil composition which can reduce the occurrence frequency of LSPI and which can ensure detergency. The lubricating oil composition which includes a lubricant base oil, a compound having calcium and/or magnesium, a compound having molybdenum and/or phosphorus, and an ashless dispersant having nitrogen and which satisfies X0.85 and Y0.18 (wherein X is calculated according to formula (1): X=([Ca]+0.5[Mg])8[Mo]8[P]30 and Y is calculated according to formula (2): Y=[Ca]+1.65[Mg]+[N]). The lubricating oil composition for use in an internal combustion engine, more particularly, a lubricating oil composition for use in a supercharged gasoline engine.
Method of reducing aqueous separation in an emulsion composition suitable for engine fueled by E85 fuel
A method for reducing aqueous phase separation of an emulsion comprising ethanol-based fuel and a lubricating oil comprising molybdenum ester amide complex, comprising the step of adding to the lubricating oil a dispersant polyalkyl (meth) acrylate (DPMA) in an amount from about 0.01 to about 0.5% by weight of the lubricating oil, such that the weight ratio of molybdenum to DPMA is about 2.05 or less.
COMPOSITION CONTAINING ESTER COMPOUNDS AND A METHOD OF LUBRICATING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The invention provides a lubricating composition containing a -amino compound. The invention further relates to a method of lubricating an internal combustion engine by lubricating the engine with the lubricating composition. The invention further relates to the use of the -amino carbonyl compound as copper corrosion inhibitors, friction control agents, antiwear and/or extreme pressure agents.
Lubricants With Calcium-Containing Detergent and Their Use for Improving Low Speed Pre-Ignition
A lubricating oil composition and method of operating a boosted internal combustion engine. The lubricating oil composition includes greater than 50 wt. % of a base oil, an overbased detergent having a TBN greater than 225 mg KOH/g and a low-based/neutral detergent having a TBN up to 175 mg KOH/g. A total amount of calcium from the overbased and low-based/neutral detergent is greater than 1100 ppm to less than 2400 ppm by weight based on a total weight of the lubricating oil composition. The lubricating oil composition and method may be effective to reduce low-speed pre-ignition events in a boosted internal combustion engine lubricated with the lubricating oil composition relative to commercially available lubricating oil compositions.
