Nano-additives enabled advanced lubricants
The presently disclosed technology relates to a nano-additives to improve the performance of lubricants, oils, and greases. More specifically, the presently disclosed technology relates to applying capped metal oxide nanoparticles, such as capped zirconia nanoparticles, in the lubricants to produce a tribofilms on the lubricating surfaces to provide wear protection to the said surfaces. Also, the interaction of the capped zirconia nanoparticles with other commonly used additives in lubricants may further optimize the performance of the resulting tribofilms.
Methods of applying active components
Method for applying an active component comprising providing a composition comprising: (a) at least one active component selected from a lubricating agent, an insecticidal agent, and an herbicidal agent; and (b) a carrier in an amount effective to solvate or emulsify said active component, said carrier comprising a monochlorotrifluoropropene; and removing the carrier from the composition.
Threaded tubular component and method for coating such a threaded tubular component
A method for producing a matrix-containing dry film on a threaded tubular component for drilling or working hydrocarbon wells, by applying a mixture containing a dispersion or an aqueous emulsion of an acrylic copolymer with a solution of an alkaline polysilicate in a liquid state onto a threaded end of the threaded tubular component by spraying at a temperature of from 20 C. to 40 C. thereby obtaining a threaded end coated with a film; drying the threaded end coated with the film; and densifying the film.
PACKAGING HAVING SLIDING LAYER AND METHOD FOR PHARMACEUTICAL AND COSMETIC SUBSTANCES AND PREPARATION FOR PRODUCING SAME
A liquid preparation for application to an inner side of a hollow body to produce a sliding layer on a packaging for pharmaceuticals or cosmetic products comprises the following constituents: a reactive silicone system for forming a silicone network of the sliding layer, a catalyst for catalyzing the cross-linking reaction of the reactive silicone system, at least one unreactive silicone oil, and at least one diluent. The diluent comprises a silicon-containing compound and a content of the at least one diluent in the preparation amounts to more than 45 percent by weight and less than 95 percent by weight in the preparation.
ELECTRORHEOLOGICAL FLUID
The present invention provides an electrorheological fluid, which includes a dielectric particle, a conductor particle and insulating oil, and the dielectric particle is evenly dispersed in the insulating oil; wherein the conductor particle is evenly dispersed in the insulating oil or inlaid in an interior and on a surface of the dielectric particle. The electrorheological fluid has the advantages of high shear stress, long service life, good temperature stability and small leakage current.
TRANSFORMER OIL, TRANSFORMER OIL EVALUATION METHOD, AND TRANSFORMER OIL EVALUATION APPARATUS
Provided is a transformer oil that has high environmental compatibility and is expected to be further improved in transformer cooling properties. The transformer oil is a transformer oil prepared by mixing a plant oil and a silicone oil and containing no mineral oil, in which a volume ratio of the plant oil to the silicone oil is 3:7 to 7:3 and magnetic particles (for example, temperature-sensitive magnetic particles) are dispersed.
Fully Miscible Antifoam Formulations
Miscible antifoams are provided that do not separate out of a target liquid and that are easy to incorporate in the target liquid. A method or system involves mixing a liquid (a miscible antifoam) into a target foaming liquid. This miscible antifoam is engineered/chosen such that it has both a higher surface tension and is more volatile than the target liquid, or engineered such that it has both a lower surface tension and is less volatility than the target liquid. The miscible antifoam leads to surface tension gradients that cause bubble rupture up to 10 times faster than the target liquid without the antifoam. Further, the miscible antifoams are easy to incorporate and do not separate out from the target liquid during operationboth of which are key limitations faced by existing antifoams.
Heat transfer methods, systems and compositions
Disclosed are refrigerants comprising at least about 97% by weight of a blend of three compounds, said blend consisting of: from about 38% by weight to about 48% by weight difluoromethane (HFC-32), from about 6% by weight to about 12% by weight pentafluoroethane (HFC-125), from about 33% by weight to about 41% by weight trifluoroiodomethane (CF.sub.3I) and from about 2% by weight to about 16% by weight 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf)
wherein the percentages are based on the total weight of the three compounds in the blend, and methods and systems which use same.
