LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITIONS FOR IMPROVING LOW-SPEED PRE-IGNITION
The present disclosure relates to lubricating compositions and methods of lubricating a spark-ignition engine effective to improve low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) through selection of lubricant elemental relationships rather than through the addition of supplemental fluid additives with the added benefit that the relationships herein, in some circumstances, improve the low-speed pre-ignition independent of the underlying base oil quality. The lubricating compositions herein include one or more base oils of lubricating viscosity, one or more phosphorus-containing additives providing low levels of phosphorus, a detergent system providing calcium and/or magnesium with certain relationships of the calcium sulfated ash content to the low phosphorus content.
Oil compound for silicone-based defoaming agents, method for producing same, and defoaming agent containing oil compound for silicone-based defoaming agents
Provided is a silicone based anti-foaming agent oil compound that has not only superior anti-foaming speed but also anti-foaming performance that does not degrade with repeated use or use over a long period. The silicone based anti-foaming agent oil compound comprises: (A) an essentially hydrophobic organopolysiloxane with a viscosity at 25 C. of 2,500 to 50,000 mPa.Math.s: 20 to 80 parts by mass; (B) a hydrophobic organopolysiloxane or cyclic organopolysiloxane having silanol groups at least at both terminals: 20 to 80 parts by mass; (C) a silane or silane condensation product: 1 to 10 parts by mass; and (D) a fine powder silica with a specific surface area of 50 m.sup.2/g or more: 2 to 10 parts by mass; where the total amount of (A) and (B) combined is 100 parts by mass. Also provided is a method for manufacturing the silicone based anti-foaming agent oil compound.
REINFORCED COMPOSITES WITH REPELLENT AND SLIPPERY PROPERTIES
Compositions and processes are disclosed for forming hydrophobic coatings and lubricant-infused surface coatings. Coatings may be applied to various substrates without prior chemical or temperature treatment of the substrates and over large and irregular surfaces. Coatings are self-healing, antifouling, and have enhanced lifetimes.
Lubricant for conveying containers
The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to the container or conveyor a lubricant composition comprising a water-miscible silicone material having a silicone emulsion wherein the silicone emulsion contains less than 500 ppm of a triethanolamine salts of alkyl benzene sulfonic acid compounds.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Provided is a lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engine, which further reduces the friction to exhibit excellent fuel efficiency performance. A lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engine, which contains (A) a lubricant base oil having a dynamic viscosity of 2.0 to mm.sup.2/s at 100 C., (B) a molybdenum-based friction modifier in an amount of 0.005 to 0.2% by mass, in terms of a molybdenum content, based on the mass of the composition, (C) a salicylate-based metal detergent in an amount of 0.01 to 1% by mass, in terms of a metal content, based on the mass of the composition, and (D) at least one compound selected from amino acids having an alkyl group, alkenyl group, or acyl group having 15 to 24 carbon atoms and/or derivatives thereof in an amount of 0.01 to 10% by mass.
MAGNETIC VISCOUS FLUID AND MECHANICAL DEVICE
The present invention provides a magnetic viscous fluid comprising a magnetic particle, at least one selected from ester base synthetic oil, ether base synthetic oil, and alkylnaphthalene having an alkyl group with 10 to 20 carbons, an inorganic cation exchanger with a siloxane bond, and silicone oil.

Defoaming agent, lubricating oil composition containing defoaming agent, and machine using lubricating oil composition
Provided is a defoaming agent showing an excellent defoaming property. Specifically, the defoaming agent includes a polymer containing as a polymerization component a polymerizable monomer (1) having a urethane bond and a fluorine-containing functional group and/or a silicone chain-containing functional group.
Thermal grease based on hyperbranched olefinic fluid
Disclosed is an effective thermal grease comprising a hyperbranched olefinic fluid and a thermally conductive filler. Property-modifying additives and fillers may also be included. The hyperbranched olefinic fluid is selected to have an average of at least 1.5 methine carbons per oligomer molecule and at least 40 methine carbons per one thousand total carbons. The thermal grease exhibits a flash point of 180 C. or higher, a pour point of 0 C. or lower, and a kinematic viscosity at 40 C. of no more than 200 cSt (0.0002 m 2/s). The composition may offer improved thermal conductivity, reduced tendency to migrate, and lower cost when compared with many other thermal greases, including silicone-based thermal greases.
Tire Lubricant
A non-water-based tire lubricant includes a thickening agent and a thinning agent. The thickening agent may be a silicone grease, hydrotreated light petroleum distillates, or hydrogenated liquid rosin ester, and the thinning agent may be a blend of petroleum distillates and additives or a silicone liquid. The tire lubricant has a pliable consistency, is easier to apply and use than standard tire lubricants, allows the tire to seal at much lower pressures, and is not water-based so that nitrogen concentrations inside the tire are maintained at 100 percent.
