Liquid fuel compositions
Use of a liquid fuel composition in an internal combustion engine, the internal combustion engine containing a lubricating composition for lubricating said internal combustion engine, wherein the liquid fuel composition comprises at least one nitrogen-containing detergent additive, for the purpose of reducing engine wear caused by the presence of soot in the lubricating composition.
CATALYTIC UPCYCLING OF POLYOLEFINS INTO LUBRICANTS
A method of upcycling polymers to useful hydrocarbon materials. A catalyst with nanoparticles on a substrate selectively docks and cleaves longer hydrocarbon chains over shorter hydrocarbon chains. The nanoparticles exhibit an edge to facet ratio to provide for more interactions with the facets.
Grease composition and use of grease composition
Provided is a grease composition which contains (A) a mixed base oil containing (A1) a low-viscosity base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 10 to 50 mm.sup.2/s and (A2) a high-viscosity base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 200 to 700 mm.sup.2/s, (B) a lithium-based thickener and (C) a polymer having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 1,000 to 100,000 mm.sup.2/s, and has an apparent viscosity at −10° C., as measured according to JIS K2220:2013 and at a shear rate of 10 s.sup.−1, of 50 to 250 mPa.Math.s. The grease composition is excellent in pumpability and is also excellent in wear resistance under poor lubrication conditions.
Lubricating oil composition
A lubricating oil composition may include a base oil (A), an olefin copolymer (B), and a poly(alkyl(meth)acrylate) (C), in which a weight average molecular weight of the olefin copolymer (B) is 10,000 to 80,000, a content of the olefin copolymer (B) is 0.01% to 0.23% by mass based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition, and a content of the poly(alkyl(meth)acrylate) (C) is 0.02% to 0.40% by mass based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition.
High temperature lubricants for magnetic media
High temperature lubricants for magnetic media are provided. One such lubricant includes fluoroalkyl, fluoroalkenyl, perfluoroalkyl, or perfluoroalkyl ether segments, anchoring functional groups engageable with a protective overcoat of a magnetic recording media, and cyclic functional groups. The lubricants can be used in conjunction with a magnetic recording medium and/or a magnetic data storage system.
Low profile lubricants for data storage devices
Low-profile thermally stable lubricants for data storage devices are provided based on multi-dentate molecular designs. One such lubricant comprises perfluoroalkyl ether segments, a divalent linking segment, and anchoring functional groups attachable to, or engageable with, a protective overcoat of a magnetic recording medium. The lubricants can be used in conjunction with a magnetic recording medium and/or a magnetic data storage system.
BIOBASED EXTREME PRESSURE ADDITIVE FOR LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
The present disclosure provides a lubricating composition or grease and methods of making and using the same. The lubricating composition or grease includes a sulfonated lignin and a lubricant comprising a soap thickener and a base oil.
POLYMERIC SURFACTANT COMPOUND
The instant disclosure relates to a lubricant composition having an oil of lubricating viscosity, a polymeric surfactant compound that is an acylated polymer having a number average molecular weight of about 500 to about 50,000 where the polymer comprises a branched olefin having from 8 to 30 carbon atoms. The acylated polymer can further be reacted with an amine or alcohol to form an amide, imide, ester or combinations thereof. The present disclosure further relates to lubricant compositions that exhibit good dispersancy and viscometric performance.
