The present invention relates to a composition for cooling a propulsion system of an electric or hybrid vehicle, comprising: (i) at least one base oil, or at least one hydrocarbon-based fluid with a boiling point of greater than or equal to 50° C.; and (ii) at least one fire retardant corresponding to formula (I)
R.sub.F-L-R.sub.H  (I) in which R.sub.F is a perfluorinated or partially fluorinated group, R.sub.H is a hydrocarbon-based group, and L is a linker, said fire retardant of formula (I) being at least partially in an encapsulated form. The invention also relates to the use of at least one fire retardant of formula (I) which is at least partially in an encapsulated form in a composition for cooling a propulsion system of an electric or hybrid vehicle, including at least one battery, to give it ignition-resistance properties. Finally, the invention relates to a process for cooling and fire-protecting a battery of a propulsion system of an electric or hybrid vehicle, comprising at least one step of placing at least one battery, in particular a lithium-ion or nickel-cadmium battery, in contact with a composition according to the invention.

LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION

A lubricating oil composition may have a high flash point, a low pour point, and excellent electrical insulation, while having excellent cooling performance. Such a lubricating oil composition may include a base oil (A), wherein the base oil (A) includes at least one synthetic oil (A1) selected from a polyalkylene glycol having a specific degree of polymerization and a polyvinyl ether having a specific degree of polymerization.

According to an embodiment, a moisture removal system includes a pump to move oil from the transformer into the system; one or more incoming oil moisture and temperature sensors to detect a first moisture level and temperature of oil; a processor to receive the moisture and temperature and determine an estimated paper moisture value of the insulation of the transformer, and compare the estimate to a target paper moisture value; and an overdry prevention bypass valve positioned in a first position to divert oil without drying when the estimated paper moisture value is equal to or less than the target value, and in a second position to channel oil through one or more drying cylinders when the estimated paper moisture value exceeds the target value.

Soluble water scavenger molecules for use with dielectric fluids are disclosed. An example dielectric fluid-based composition for reducing water content in a dielectric fluid may include a water-scavenging agent disposed within a dielectric fluid. The example dielectric fluid-based composition may further include the water-scavenging agent being soluble in the dielectric fluid. The example dielectric fluid-based composition may further include the water-scavenging agent being configured to react with water molecules in the dielectric fluid. The example dielectric fluid-based composition may be disposed in an electrical equipment immersed in oil. The electrical equipment may further include at least one solid insulation in operational contact with the dielectric fluid.
