ANAPLEROTIC OIL PRODUCTION IN MICROBIALS

Disclosed are techniques and systems for producing microbials having anaplerotic oils that are rich in odd-chain fatty acids, and other beneficial components, at higher concentrations than those present in other natural dietary sources of OCFA, at lower cost, and higher production yield. Such compositions can comprise pentadecanoic and heptadecanoic fatty acids. The techniques described herein include methods for producing and deriving such compositions rich in odd-chain fatty acids from microbials, including microalgae and yeasts/fungi.

METHOD OF ISOLATING LIPIDS FROM A LIPIDS CONTAINING BIOMASS WITH AID OF HYDROPHOBIC SILICA

The current invention relates to a method of isolating lipids from a lipids containing biomass with aid of hydrophobic silica and to an oil and to a delipidated biomass as obtained by such a method.

METHODS OF RECOVERING OIL FROM MICROORGANISMS
20210024852 · 2021-01-28 ·

Provided herein are methods of recovering oil from microorganisms. The methods are useful, for example, in obtaining nutritional oils and/or lipid biofuels. The methods of recovering oil described herein include contacting a population of microorganisms with one or more enzymes under conditions that cause disruption of the microorganisms, concentrating the disrupted microorganisms, and extracting lipids from the disrupted microorganisms at high temperature in the presence of a salt and in the absence of solvent.

Microbial oil, production method for microbial oil, concentrated microbial oil, and production method for concentrated microbial oil

A microbial oil comprising: a specific amount of at least one polyunsaturated fatty acid having at least 20 carbon atoms in fatty acid alkyl ester form and/or in free fatty acid form; and specific amount of thermally-produced fatty acid having from 16 to 22 carbon atoms in a fatty acid alkyl ester form and/or a free fatty acid form. A production method thereof comprising: providing a starting oil containing at least one polyunsaturated fatty acid having at least 20 carbon atoms in an alkyl ester form and/or a free fatty acid form obtained from microbial biomass; performing a rectification of the starting oil under specific conditions; and obtaining the aforementioned microbial oil. A concentrated microbial oil obtained using the production method described above, and a production method thereof. An agent for treating or preventing an inflammatory disease comprising the microbial oil or the concentrated microbial oil.

METHOD OF REDUCING EMULSION BY BROTH WASHING

Disclosed herein are processes for reducing or eliminating emulsion during the process of obtaining a microbial oil comprising one or more polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) from one or more microbial cells by washing the fermentation broth with at least 1 amount of water. Further disclosed herein is microbial oil comprising one or more PUFAs that is recovered from microbial cells by at least one process described herein.

The present invention relates to a methods for producing bio-oils from vegetation high in lignin. The invention further relates to antimicrobial compositions comprising bio-oil extracted from vegetation high in lignin.

SOLVENT EXTRACTION OF OIL FROM DISTILLERS DRIED GRAINS AND METHODS OF USING EXTRACTION PRODUCTS
20210002583 · 2021-01-07 ·

A process for extraction of crude oil from distillers dried grain solubles and/or distillers dried grains and producing corn distillers meal that may be used as a livestock supplement is disclosed. For example, the corn distillers meal may be used as a crude protein supplement for use in a livestock feed diet or a poultry feed diet. The solvent extracted crude oil may be suitable for oleochemical processing for personal care and home care products, biodiesel production, and/or renewable diesel production from hydro-treating the extracted oil to make green diesel fuel.

COMPOUNDS EXTRACTED FROM PLANT MATTER AND METHODS OF PREPARATION THEREOF

Described herein are compositions from refined oil from plant matter, and in particular from seed, bean, nut, kernel, or pulp (e.g., wood pulp) material of virgin and/or non-virgin plant matter, and methods of forming those compositions. The methods typically include the steps of (i) at least partially separating the seed, bean, nut, kernel, or pulp material from other portions of the plant matter; (ii) extracting an oil comprising one or more triglycerides from the seed, bean, nut, kernel, or pulp material; (iii) refining the oil to remove one or more impurity components; and (iv) chemically or physically modifying the refined oil.

SYNTHESIS OF LONG-CHAIN POLYUNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS BY RECOMBINANT CELLS

The present invention relates to methods of synthesizing long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially eicosapentaenoic acid, docosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, in recombinant cells such as yeast or plant cells. Also provided are recombinant cells or plants which produce long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a group of new enzymes which possess desaturase or elongase activity that can be used in methods of synthesizing long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids.
