EXTRACTION OF OILS FROM BIOMASS SOLIDS USING VARYING TEMPERATURE PRESSURE AND SOLVENT MATERIALS

Apparatuses and methods for extracting desired oils, resins, and/or solids from biomass. An aspect of the present disclosure comprises a continuous flow system using solvents as a carrier liquid and then converting the solvent to a supercritical state for extraction of the desired materials through pressure, temperature, and volume control within the extraction system.

EXTRACTION OF NATURAL FERULATE AND COUMARATE FROM BIOMASS
20220033341 · 2022-02-03 ·

A process for a reactive separation of organic molecules from biomass includes a reaction step for the biomass, a simultaneous extraction step using a solvent, and a filtration step to recover products, wherein the products comprise ferulic acid and/or coumaric acid. The products are extracted from the biomass in a pressurized stirred batch reactor using a liquid extraction solvent and a base in which the ferulate and the coumarate remain.

Method for Preparing Dehydrated Avocados by Microwave Drying

The present invention concerns a method for preparing dehydrated avocados, a method for preparing an unsaponifiable-rich avocado oil, a method for preparing an avocado cake rich in sugars and proteins, and a method for preparing an unsaponifiable fraction; these methods all comprising a step of drying avocado slices by means of microwaves until dehydrated avocados are obtained having residual moisture less than or equal to 5%; during this step, the water evaporated under the action of the microwaves being eliminated by a warm air stream with a temperature less than or equal to 80° C. and/or by air extraction.

This disclosure concerns recombinant host organisms genetically modified with a polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) synthase system and one or more accessory proteins that allow for and/or improve the production of PUFAs in the host organism. The disclosure also concerns methods of making and using such organisms as well as products obtained from such organisms.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR EXTRACTING AN OIL FROM AN OIL-CONTAINING RAW MATERIAL
20220195328 · 2022-06-23 · ·

The present invention relates to a method and system of extracting an oil from an oil-containing raw material comprising the steps of providing a non-crushed oil-containing raw material, and treating the non-crushed oil-containing raw material. The treatment is performed by exposing the oil-containing raw material to vacuum, wherein the vacuum defines an absolute pressure of between 1 mm Hg and 150 mm Hg, and a temperature of between 0° C. and 45° C., and by subjecting the oil-containing raw material to crushing, simultaneously and/or subsequently to the step of exposing the oil-containing raw material to the vacuum, to provide a treated oil-containing raw material. By the method and system, high yield of oil with high quality can be obtained.
