CONTACT LENS CLEANING AGENT
The invention relates to a lipase-containing composition for cleaning contact lenses, in particular soft contact lenses, characterized in that the composition contains a lipase that is obtainable from the yeast Candida rugose.
Contact lens treatment solution
The present invention is a contact lens treatment solution containing the following copolymer A and copolymer B in a ratio of A/B=1000/1 to 2/1 (by weight). According to the present invention, there can be provided a contact lens treatment solution capable of removing dirt having adhered to contact lens surfaces and capable of imparting persisting hydrophilicity to contact lens surfaces, by simple immersion treatment. Copolymer A: a copolymer obtained by copolymerization of a monomer (a) represented by formula (1) and a monomer (b) represented by formula (2), in which the copolymerization ratio of the monomer (a) to the monomer (b), a/b=7/3 to 9/1 (by mol), and having a weight-average molecular weight of 400,000 to 700,000. Copolymer B: a copolymer obtained by copolymerization of a monomer (c) represented by formula (3) and a monomer (d) represented by formula (4), in which the copolymerization ratio of the monomer (c) to the monomer (d), c/d=1/4 to 9/1 (by mol), and having a weight-average molecular weight of 20,000 to 90,000.
Ophthalmic solutions
An ophthalmically compatible solution includes (a) about 0.005 to about 2 wt. %, based on the total weight of the ophthalmically compatible solution, of hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof; (b) about 0.01 to about 1 wt. %, based on the total weight of the ophthalmically compatible solution, of erythritol; (c) sodium chloride, potassium chloride or any combination thereof; and (d) one or more buffers.
BRANCHED POLYMERIC BIGUANIDE COMPOUNDS AND THEIR USES
Biocidal branched polymeric biguanide compounds are made by polycondensation of sodium dicyanamide and a Afunctional primary amine and/or a tetrafunctional primary amine and optionally with a difunctional primary amine. The branched polymeric biguanide compounds have 2-dimensional conformation that provides better coverage over the surfaces of microorganisms and enhances efficacy as biocides as compared to most commercially available linear (one-dimensional) polymeric biguanide compounds. The bulkier 2-dimensional conformation of this invention limits the uptake, accumulation and release of these branched polymers to and from contact lenses. Therefore, these branched biguanide polymers can reduce the cytotoxicity, enhance compatibility and suitable for ophthalmic use. The highly branched polymers can be prepared with minimum or no difunctional primary amines. The lightly branched polymers can be prepared with of a minimum ratio of trifunctional plus multifunctional primary amines to difunctional primary amines.
OPHTHALMIC PRODUCT AND OPHTHALMIC COMPOSITION THEREOF
An ophthalmic composition includes effective amounts of a comfort enhancing agent, a surfactant, and a buffering agent. The comfort enhancing agent includes a first functional monomer that is 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC). The comfort enhancing agent has a HLB value between 8 and 40. In addition, the comfort enhancing agent can further include a second functional monomer that is preferably n-butyl methacrylate (BMA).
Method for disinfecting contact lenses
A method for disinfecting contact lenses, including immersing the contact lenses in a volume of cleaning agent with about 3% hydrogen peroxide for up to 4 hrs, and immersing up to 0.7 g of a fibrous catalyst enhancer material in the volume of cleaning agent for up to 4 hrs. The fibrous catalyst enhancer material is immersed simultaneously with the contact lenses.
VARIANT ALKALINE PROTEASE ENZYME COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS
The invention is directed to novel alkaline proteases.
Dry wipe with demisting and/or cleaning action
The present invention relates to a dry wipe comprising a woven or knitted microfiber fabric having hydrophilic polymer microfibers and lipophilic polymer microfibers, which is impregnated with at least one surfactant, the hydrophilic/lipophilic balance (HLB) of which is greater than or equal to 5. These wipes can be used to clean the surface of substrates and/or to confer demisting properties on hydrophilic surfaces.
Ophthalmic compositions comprising polyether substituted polymers
The present invention relates to ophthalmic solutions and devices comprising at least one water soluble polymer having a molecular weight of at least about 500,000 Daltons and comprising linear or branched polyether pendant groups having a molecular weight of at least about 300.
PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING 8 OXO-DEOXYGUANOSINE OR PHARMACEUTICALLY ACCEPTABLE SALT THEREOF AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT FOR TREATING CORNEAL DISEASE
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for treating corneal disease containing 8-oxo-deoxyguanosine (8-oxo-2-deoxyguanosine) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. Specifically, by confirming that a corneal epithelium was restored (regenerated) quicker and the clarity of a cornea improved when it was administered to a mouse model of corneal disease induced by ethanol, 8-oxo-deoxyguanosine (8 -oxo-2-deoxyguanosine) of the present invention may be useful for the treatment of corneal disease.
