Apparatus for the combined incubation and vitrification of a biological material
An apparatus, that relates to the field of in vitro fertilization, is provided for the combined incubation and vitrification of a biological material. The apparatus can be configured to allow for automatic incubation and vitrification of a viable biological material. Thereby predetermined protocols for handling the biological material can be performed precisely and accurately thus avoiding errors and deviations from the intended protocol, as caused by manual human intervention.
Cell culture vessel for 3D culture and methods of culturing 3D cells
A cell culture vessel (100) has walls and a substrate having a plurality of microcavities (120), where each microcavity of the plurality of microcavities includes a concave well and an opening to allow the microcavity to be filled with liquid. A flange (170) surrounds the substrate having an array of microcavities. A channel (175, 176) surrounds the flange, providing a moat around the microcavity substrate. The flange is angled. Methods of culturing cells in the cell culture vessel are also provided.
Well plate incubator
Incubators including an enclosure with an internal chamber configured to support a cell culture plate comprising a plurality of wells are disclosed. The enclosure includes a plurality of openings configured to allow access to the wells. The incubators include a sealing element configured to seal the plurality of openings in the enclosure. The sealing element comprises a plurality of openings corresponding to at least a subset of the plurality of openings in the enclosure. Access to the internal chamber can be provided by aligning the plurality of openings in the sealing element with the plurality of openings in the enclosure. Methods for using the incubators are also provided.
Adaptive electrode arrangement and method
A well for electrically stimulating at least one cell. The well includes a bottom portion and comprises an adaptive electrode arrangement for introducing an electric field into the well. The adaptive electrode arrangement includes a pair of electrodes disposed within the well. Each electrode of the pair of electrodes has a distal end and is independently and axially displaceable relative to the other electrode and the bottom portion of the well. The distal end of each electrode of the pair of electrodes is in contact with the bottom portion of the well, ensuring a uniform and constant electric field is applied within the well.
Vascularized in vitro arrays of living cells
High-throughput column arrays of vascularized living parenchyma/tissue having pillars dispersed in specialized configurations and arrangements substantially vertically through the column to provide support, passive or active perfusion, and access to internal portions of tissue for analytical sampling needs, along with 3-D printing methods of manufacture and analytical screening methods employing the column arrays.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR IN-VITRO MILK PRODUCTION
The disclosure relates to methods, systems and compositions for use in the production of milk. More specifically, the disclosure is directed to systems, compositions and methods for in-vitro production of milk using an array of mammary organoids seeded on tertiary-branched, resilient duct scaffolding.
Microwell device and method of manufacturing the same
A microwell device and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The microwell device includes a substrate and a plurality of microwells formed on the substrate. In addition, each of the microwells includes a cavity being recessed on the substrate and an opening, and the diameter of the opening is smaller than the largest inner diameter of the cavity. Furthermore, the microwells are curved.
Cell handling device
The cell handling device includes a container having a section to store cells; a cell detection unit for detecting a cell stored in the section; a head device for conducting picking of cells, and transfer and release of the picked cells; a control unit; and a determination unit for making a determination of a cell state including at least one of the number, properties, and arrangement of the cells based on a detection result of the cell detection unit. The control unit causes the head device to execute, according to a state determination result obtained by the determination unit, one operation selected from among operation of picking all the cells stored in the section, operation of picking a part of the cells stored in the section, operation of picking a new cell and releasing the cell in the section, and operation of terminating processing of the section.
