Method for producing a biodigester reactor and membrane template
Methods, systems and/or apparatus related to the manufacture and use of biodigesters are disclosed. Moreover, techniques for the manufacture of reactors whose final shape increases the lifespan of the biodigester, as well as modular techniques for the manufacture of the reactors, are included.
PLUG FLOW TUBULAR BIOREACTOR, SYSTEM CONTAINING THE SAME AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF VIRUS
The present invention relates in a first aspect to a plug flow tubular bioreactor having an integral or multi-part tube adapted for cultivation, and, optionally, infection, viral transduction, or transfection of eukaryotic cells. In a further aspect, the present invention relates to a plug flow tubular bioreactor system comprising the plug flow tubular bioreactor according to the present invention. Further, the present invention relates to a method for preparing virus particles, vectors, cells or other molecules including toxic molecules using the plug flow tubular bioreactor or the system according to the present invention. Finally, the present invention relates to the use of a plug flow tubular bioreactor for the preparation of virus particles, vectors including viral vectors, cells including modified cells or other molecules including toxic molecules.
Vascularized in vitro arrays of living cells
High-throughput column arrays of vascularized living parenchyma/tissue having pillars dispersed in specialized configurations and arrangements substantially vertically through the column to provide support, passive or active perfusion, and access to internal portions of tissue for analytical sampling needs, along with 3-D printing methods of manufacture and analytical screening methods employing the column arrays.
Gas-fed fermentation reactors, systems and processes utilizing gas/liquid separation vessels
Reactors, systems and processes for the production of biomass by culturing microorganisms in aqueous liquid culture medium circulating inner loop reactor which utilize nonvertical pressure reduction zones are described. Recovery and processing of the culture microorganisms to obtain products, such as proteins or hydrocarbons is described.
SCALABLE BIOREACTOR SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS OF USE
Bioreactors configured to scale-up the production of greater quantities of cells at relatively low cost are provided. These bioreactors may be utilized in the production of large-scale quantities of cell-based meat and cell-based fat. The bioreactors may be reusable and may have a high surface area-to-volume ratio for adherent cell expansion. The bioreactors may be capable of yielding a large number of adherent cells per bioreactor unit.
System and method for fabricating a cornea
A method for fabricating a cornea includes affixing a frame to at least one cell culture insert comprising a generally cylindrical structure having a proximal end and a distal end, a base disposed at the proximal end, and a porous membrane disposed between the proximal end and the distal end; affixing a dome-shaped member to the porous membrane within the frame, the dome-shaped member comprising a crown, a dome base, and a surface connecting the crown and the dome base; depositing a material comprising a matrix-forming compound on the frame such that the crown and at least a portion of the surface of the dome-shaped member is coated with the material comprising the matrix-forming compound; and removing the dome-shaped member to produce a fabricated cornea attached to the frame. A system for fabricating a cornea and a cornea scaffold are also described herein.
Integrated Bioreactor Apparatus for Fabricating Polyhydroxyalkanoate Bioplastic Products
The present disclosure provides an integrated and energy-efficient apparatus for the fabrication of completely biodegradable Polyhydroxyalkanoate, PHA, bioplastic products. The apparatus combines a bioreactor fermenter, mixing chambers, and an oven and mold chamber in a single compact design, allowing the entire fabrication process to be handled by a process controller if desired. Plates, cups, masks, packaging materials, and other plastic products can be produced directly from biomass media, with solvents and other agents recycled within the apparatus between batches.
Bioreactor connectors
Aspects of the disclosure relate to rotating bioreactors and articles and methods that are useful for adapting a rotating bioreactor for use with tissues or scaffolds of different sizes. In some embodiments, bioreactors comprising a reservoir and an arbor assembly are provided herein, in which the arbor assembly comprises a rotatable support to which a tissue or tissue scaffold can be attached.
Process for providing a culture of microorganisms to an elongated element
The present invention relates to a process for depositing at least a culture of microorganisms to an elongated element, preferably a yarn, comprising the steps of: providing at least a first feeding device comprising at least a first outlet; supplying at least one elongated element to said at least first feeding device; feeding to said first outlet at least a first culture comprising at least one microorganism; dispensing said first culture from said at least first outlet; contacting at least part of said elongated element with said first culture of microorganisms, to provide at least a part of said elongated element with an amount of said first culture of microorganisms.
