A method and a device for adherent culture of microalgae in a thin liquid layer by mobile mechanical stirring, comprising: a subsystem for adherent culture of microalgae in thin liquid layer, for adherent culture of microalgae in a culture solution, comprising a microalgae liquid pool and a culture plate used as a base plate for microalgae seed inoculation, adherent culture, microalgae harvesting, the microalgae liquid pool containing culture solution having a water layer with a depth in a range of 1{tilde over ()}5 cm, forming a thin liquid layer; and a subsystem for mechanical stirring, comprising a mechanical stirring assembly, a moving assembly, a track member, a power drive assembly, a control assembly, the moving assembly moving on the track member to drive the mechanical stirring assembly to stir and suspend the microalgae, the microalgae standing and gradually settling to the bottom after stirring, realizing adherent culture in suspension and settlement cycle.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR REDUCING A MINIMUM WORKING VOLUME OF A BIOREACTOR

An apparatus for reducing a minimum working volume of a stirred tank includes a body having upper and lower surfaces, and an exterior profile shaped to closely fit within an interior of the stirred tank. The body including an interior portion extending through the body from the upper surface to the lower surface, the interior portion configured to receive and partially surround an impeller within the stirred tank, while allowing rotation of the impeller to agitate a fluid in the vessel when in use. The body further including an opening in a side surface of the body, the opening extending into the interior portion and configured to facilitate removal of fluid from the vessel when the stirred tank is in use, and to be removed from the stirred tank via a drain.

A method of installing a flexible bioprocess container in a bioprocessing system having a rigid housing with an interior compartment and extending between a top and an opposing base. The method includes coupling a first surface of the flexible bioprocess container to a moveable platform positioned within the interior compartment of the rigid housing; coupling a second surface of the flexible bioprocess container to the base of the rigid housing; and moving the movable platform relative to the rigid housing and toward the top of the rigid housing so as to at least partially expand the flexible bioprocess container within the interior compartment of the rigid housing.

An anaerobic biogas plant comprising a digester and a method for the digestion of fresh organic digestion substrate. The digester includes an entry section with an inlet at a first end, a rear section at a second, opposite end, and a middle section arranged between the entry section and the rear section. The digester further includes a stirring unit comprising a shaft extending in the direction from the first end to the second end and having at least one agitating arm for mixing the substrate within the digester. The middle section includes a main outlet and the rear section includes an additional outlet. The digester further includes a separate return line leading from the additional outlet back to the entry section of the digester for allowing a direct return of a minor fraction of digestate removed from the rear section back into the entry section.
