Medical mattress with firmness adjustment
A mattress for institutional use provides upper and lower surfaces offering different levels of firmness through the use of gradiated firmness in multiple polymer foam layers.
Mattress with variable height and hardness and method for adjusting the height and hardness of the same
A mattress having variable height and hardness is disclosed. The mattress comprises a base layer held by a mattress cover using an extendable attachment system. The mattress further comprises one or more top layers made of resilient material which are stacked on top of the base layer. Only friction between the material of the top layers limit the lateral or longitudinal movements of a layer with regard to another layer.
Multi-layered segment mattress
A mattress embodying a removable exterior top and interchangeable segments (e.g. foam) positioned above a mattress base support portion and below the removable exterior top. The removable exterior top may be replaced with new or different removable exterior tops. Also, users have the ability to vary softness (i.e., firmness) or other characteristics (e.g., foam component construct) across the mattress by arranging or rearranging the interchangeable segments located directly below the removable and interchangeable mattress top. An exemplary base support portion may include a heavy duty pocketed inner-coil unit for motion transfer support and increased airflow.
MATTRESS
A mattress includes a flex structure having at least one support layer and a plurality of marbles engaged with the at least one support layer and supported by the at least one support layer. The plurality of marbles is arranged in a grid pattern along the at least one support layer.
HYBRID MATTRESS CORE ASSEMBLIES
Mattress assemblies including a hybrid mattress core assembly having a bilayer structure including a fiber layer laminated to a foam layer. Also disclosed are mattress assemblies including a hybrid mattress core assembly having a trilayer structure including a fiber layer sandwiched between first and second foam layers.
Bedding or seating product having topper with at least one thermally enhanced foam component
A three-layered topper for a bedding or seating product has a first piece of foam, a second piece of foam and a pocketed spring comfort layer therebetween. The pocketed spring comfort layer has individually pocketed mini coil springs. At least one of the foam pieces may be infused with metallic particles to improve thermal conductivity. Alternatively, at least one of the foam pieces may be infused with microencapsulated phase change materials to improve heat absorption. At least one of the foam pieces may have a coating to further improve thermal conductivity or heat absorption.
Compressible mattress
Compressible mattress assemblies for bed in a box applications consist of a first polymeric foam layer and a second polymeric foam layer, wherein the first polymeric foam layer has a thickness less than the second polymeric foam layer and has a property and/or a foam material that is different from the second polymeric foam layer. In other embodiments, the compressible mattress assemblies consist of a pocketed microcoil array intermediate the first and second polymeric foam layers.
Comfort layer with liquid pods and method of making same
A comfort layer for a bedding or seating product has liquid pods sandwiched between plies of fabric. The plies of fabric are joined with seams thereby creating pockets, at least one liquid pod being inside each pocket. Each seam joining opposed plies of fabric around each of the liquid pods of the comfort layer may be segmented or solid, depending upon the fabric and type of seam.
Hybrid side rail assemblies and mattresses including the same
A side rail assembly and a mattress assembly including the side rail assembly about at least a portion of a perimeter of the mattress assembly. The side rail assembly includes a laminate structure including one or more foam layers and one or more fiber layers in a stacked arrangement. The fiber layer can be a non-woven layer.
FOAM CUSHIONS HAVING AN ORTHOGONAL ALTERNATING STRUCTURE
Foam cushions having an orthogonal alternating structure and cushioning articles formed of or containing such foam cushions are provided. The orthogonal alternating structure can be formed by assembling layers of foam and bonding all of or part of the interface where the layers are formed from at least two types or stiffnesses of foam. The layered arrangement of foam can be cut, if necessary, to create a foam cushion where the layers extend along a length or width of the foam cushion, or orthogonal to the direction of the force that the foam cushion is intended to support. Foam cushion components having bases and layers that emanate from the bases could be used to form the foam cushion.
