Provided herein are fermented beverages comprising symbiotic microbial communities, and methods of production thereof.
Genetically modified acetogenic cell
There is provided an acetogenic microbial cell which is capable of producing at least one higher alcohol from a carbon source, wherein the acetogenic microbial cell is genetically modified to comprise an increased expression relative to its wild type cell of at least one enzyme, E.sub.8, a butyryl-CoA:acetate CoA transferase (cat3). There is also provided a method and use of the cell to produce higher alcohols.
METHODS AND PRODUCTS FOR BIODEGRADATION OF WASTE
The present invention provides a method of producing a product for waste degradation, a microbial consortium or a mixed microbial composition, a product for waste degradation, and a waste degradation method. The method of producing the product for waste degradation comprises providing at least one isolated microbial strain from excreta, providing at least one lactic acid and/or acetic acid producing microbial strain, providing at least one yeast strain, providing at least one Bacillus sp., and combining the microbial strains to produce a microbial consortium for waste degradation.
Ketoreductase mutant and application thereof
A ketoreductase mutant and use thereof are provided. The amino acid sequence of the ketoreductase mutant is an amino acid sequence obtained by mutation of the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein the mutation at least comprises one of the following mutation sites: position 6, position 94, position 96, position 117, position 144, position 156, position 193, position 205, position 224, position 176, position 85 and position 108; alternatively, the amino acid sequence of the ketoreductase mutant has a mutation site in a mutated amino acid sequence and an amino acid sequence having 80% or more homology with the mutated amino acid sequence.
VINEGAR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A method for manufacturing an acetic acid bacterium culture and the acid bacterium culture, the acid bacterium culture contains PS1 (Glc:Gal:Man:GlcA=6.0:5.0 to 6.5:0.05 to 0.4:0.05 to 0.4) and/or PS2 (Glc:Rha:Man:GlcA=4.0:1.5 to 2.5:0.05 to 0.4:0.05 to 0.4) which are/is water-soluble polysaccharide(s). The method includes a fermentation step S.sub.1: a step of culturing acetic acid bacteria belonging to the genus Kozakia to give a first culture containing PS1, or culturing acetic acid bacteria belonging to the genus Komagataeibacter to give a first culture containing PS2, or culturing acetic acid bacteria belonging to the genus Kozakia and acetic acid bacteria belonging to the genus Komagataeibacter to give a first culture containing PS1 and PS2.
Application of hydrophobic phthalocyanine as heterogeneous catalyst in oxidizing phenol wastewater by hydrogen peroxide
Disclosed is an application of a hydrophobic phthalocyanine as a heterogeneous catalyst in oxidizing phenol wastewater by hydrogen peroxide. A hydrophobic silane is decorated on a bacterial cellulose-metal phthalocyanine heterogeneous catalyst to obtain a hydrophobic phthalocyanine heterogeneous catalyst; during the catalytic degradation of phenols, the obtained catalyst is capable of adjusting a concentration of hydrogen peroxide oxidant around the catalyst. A preparation method of the hydrophobic phthalocyanine comprises: 1. preparing a mixed solution of a bacterial cellulose medium containing metal phthalocyanine; 2. adding acetic acid bacterium into the mixed solution obtained in step 1 for biological culture; 3. heating the product obtained in step 2, and taking out a solid for cleaning and drying; 4. preparing a hydrophobic silane solution; and 5. immersing the product obtained in step 3 into the solution obtained in step 4, and taking out a solid after reaction for cleaning and drying.
