Method and System to Improve the Health of a Person's Skin Microbiome
Compositions, systems and methods of improving the health of the microbiome of an individual's skin relate to the provision of skin contacting formulations containing beneficial bacteria and other microbe components to foster the growth and maintenance of a healthy skin microbiome. Certain embodiments include methods of treatment for acne and other skin disorders involving the use of probiotics, as well as the use of bacteria engineered via CRISPR systems for the treatment of specific skin disorders.
ANTIVIRAL TREATMENT COMPRISING BLIS CONTAINING PROBIOTIC PRODUCTS
This invention relates to methods of prophylactically or therapeutically treating viral infections particularly in the lower respiratory tract. Treatment of coronavirus infections is particularly contemplated. The invention also relates to the use of BLIS-producing Streptococcus strains, extracts and exudates thereof, and compositions containing same in the prevention, reduction, or treatment of such virus infections.
GBS FERRITIN NANOPARTICLES
Polypeptides capable of self-assembling into a nanoparticle, and nanoparticles made up of such polypeptides.
Method of producing Streptococcus thermophilus mutant strains
The present invention is directed to a method of producing a Streptococcus thermophilus strain comprising the steps of a) Providing a mother strain in the form of Streptococcus thermophilus DSM32502, b) Growing a culture of the mother strain in the presence of a bacteriophage, to which the mother strain is not resistant, to obtain a number of mutant strains, which are resistant to the said bacteriophage, c) Measuring the acidification time of the bacteriophage-resistant mutant strains and the mother strain in a milk base and selecting at least one mutant strain with a reduced acidification time as compared to the mother strain to obtain a fast-acidifying mutant strain.
LACTIC ACID BACTERIA, AND FEED, FERTILIZERS, AND LIVE BACTERIAL PREPARATIONS CONTAINING THE SAME
An object is to provide lactic acid bacteria that can be applicable to feed, fertilizers, live bacterial preparations, probiotics, etc. The lactic acid bacteria are identified and deposited under the accession numbers of NITE (National Institute of Technology and Evaluation) P-02313, NITE P-02314, NITE P-02490, NITE P-02491, and NITE P-02492. In addition, another object is to provide feed, fertilizers and live bacterial preparations containing the lactic acid bacterium/bacteria of the invention. According to studies, it is confirmed that the lactic acid bacteria are proliferated in animals including human, plants, etc. without being destroyed. According to studies, it is also confirmed that the lactic acid bacteria are proliferated in water, soil, etc. without being destroyed. Therefore, the lactic acid bacteria can be widely applicable in feed, fertilizers, live bacterial preparations, etc.
HIGH COMPLEXITY SYNTHETIC GUT BACTERIAL COMMUNITIES
The present invention provides high-complexity defined gut microbial communities capable of achieving substantial engraftment and having stability following human fecal community microbial challenge and methods of producing the same. Also provided are methods of using high-complexity defined gut microbial communities for the treatment of dysbiosis or a pathological condition in an animal.
Antimicrobial strain
The present invention belongs to the field of the biotechnology, and relates to novel Streptococcusbacteria which are useful as antimicrobial agents, particularly against caries and periodontal disease. The invention relates to compositions and functional food comprising the novel bacteria. In particular, the present invention relates to a novel bacterial strain, deposited at the Colección Española de Cultivos Tipo, with accession number CECT 9174, which has proven to be useful in the prevention and treatment of caries and periodontal disease.
NEW LACTIC ACID BACTERIA
The invention relates to a lactose-positive, galactose-negative, Streptococcus thermophilus strain carrying a mutation in 2 or 3 genes selected from the group consisting of 1) a gene encoding a protein of the mannose-glucose-specific PTS and a glcK gene, 2) a gene encoding a protein of the mannose-glucose-specific PTS and a ccpA gene, and 3) a gene encoding a protein of the mannose-glucose-specific PTS, a glcK gene and a ccpA gene, wherein said strain, when used to ferment milk, provides a low lactose fermented milk and/or a fermented milk not undergoing acidification when stored at fermentation temperature.
STREPTOCOCCAL VACCINE FORMULATIONS AND USES THEREOF
The present invention relates to streptococcal vaccine formulations and their use in generating immunity against streptococcal infection.
COMPOSITION FOR STRENGTHENING SKIN BARRIER, MOISTURIZING SKIN OR ANTI-AGING
Provided is a composition comprising a novel strain, a lysate thereof or a culture product thereof, which can demonstrate excellent effects in strengthening skin barrier, moisturizing skin, enhancing skin elasticity or anti-aging, and can be used for a cosmetic composition or health functional food.
