SMART WEIGHING SCALE AND METHODS RELATED THERETO
The present disclosure relates to smart weighing scale and methods related thereto. According to a method, at least one image corresponding to each of one or more grocery items resting on a pressure sensing platform of the smart weighing scale is captured. Further, at least a range profile and a range-azimuth signature corresponding to each of the one or more grocery items are obtained from a radar. Further, each of the one or more grocery items is automatically identified based on the at least one image, the range profile, and the range-azimuth signature corresponding to the said grocery item.
Registration settlement apparatus
A registration settlement apparatus comprises a first determination module that determines a commodity in response to an operation by a first operator; a second determination module that determines a commodity in response to an operation by a second operator; a determination control module that controls the first and second determination modules to enable either the first or the second determination module, and enables the second determination module in response to an instruction from the second operator while the first determination module is enabled within a registration period for one transaction; a creation module that creates a list of commodities determined as objects of the transaction within the registration period by the first or the second determination module enabled; and a settlement module that calculates a settlement amount based on the list created and performs settlement processing on the settlement amount in response to an operation by the first operator.
DRIVE-THROUGH AUTOMATED SUPERMARKET
A store is described, including an ordering interface, a storage area, automated vehicles, and a central processing system. The ordering interface accepts selections of items for purchase from a shopper. The storage area, stocking items for sale, is separate from the area containing the ordering interface. The automated vehicles retrieve items from the storage area. The central processing system is configured to: check-in the shopper; assign an order fulfilment module to the shopper; receive selections of items from the ordering interface in real-time, as the shopper selects the items for purchase; send the selections to the order fulfilment module for retrieval in real-time; check-out the shopper when the shopper is finished selecting items; and arrange delivery of the completed order to the shopper.
