09737158 · 2017-08-22 · ·

An integral head sling support apparatus and system for a person for use primarily during travel, comprising a head band or piece adapted to fit around the forehead of the person and a harness extending from the headband assembly to a sling assembly adapted to receive the person's arms. The integral head sling support further comprises a headrest assembly of a neck pillow and guide for one or more straps configured to utilize the weight of the persons arms in the sling assembly to pull rearward the person's head and anchor while supporting the person's head so that the person can sleep in an upright seated position. The one or more adjustable straps may be a portion of the sling assembly pass behind the head, along the back and under the person's armpits so that when the person is seated and places their arms in the sling assembly, the weight of the person's arms provide the weight of an anchor for the integral head sling support apparatus and system.

The system may include a mattress comprising one or more upper support members, each upper support member including multiple foam layers having at least one of different thermal conductivity characteristics and different glass transition temperature (Tg) characteristics and one or more lower support members, each lower support member including multiple foam layers having different support characteristics. The system may include one or more pillows each including multiple distinct foam layers differing in at least one of a support characteristic, a thermal conductivity characteristic, and a Tg characteristic. The system may include a mattress topper with one or more support members which each include multiple foam layers differing in at least one of a support characteristic, a thermal conductivity characteristic, and a Tg characteristic.

Protective Arm Cover
20220030965 · 2022-02-03 ·

A protective arm cover utilizes a set of curved rigid panels to create a firm, structurally-sound guard with an opening for a user's arm. A set of metal ties may be used to join adjacent panels, securing the panels end-to-end. The panels and ties may utilize sets of holes to enable connection and size adjustment, thus preventing the apparatus from consuming too much space on the bed and simultaneously ensuring that the user's arm is comfortably supported during sleep. Shifting aligned holes in the panels and ties allows for adjustment of the diameter of the arm space. An inner padding within the arm opening created by the panels ensures that the user's arm is cushioned from the rigid panels. Similarly, an outer padding prevents the user's head from contacting the panels and ties while the user rests. Thus, the apparatus may prevent damage or discomfort to an extremity during sleep.
