Provided are a baicalein- and scutellarein-synthesizing microorganism, a preparation method for same, and applications thereof. By modifying a heterologous metabolic pathway of a host cell per a genetic engineering method, acquired is an engineered strain providing a high yield of baicalein and scutellarein. Also provided is a process for utilizing the engineered strain to produce baicalein and scutellarein.

Fatty acid decarboxylase and its uses

The present invention relates to the identification of a new class of fatty acid decarboxylases and its uses, in particular for producing alkanes/alkenes from fatty acids.

Heme Protein Catalysts for Carbon-Silicon Bond Formation In Vitro and In Vivo

The present invention provides compositions and methods for catalyzing the formation of carbon-silicon bonds using heme proteins. In certain aspects, the present invention provides heme proteins, including variants and fragments thereof, that are capable of carrying out in vitro and in vivo carbene insertion reactions for the formation of carbon-silicon bonds. In other aspects, the present invention provides methods for producing an organosilicon product, the method comprising providing a silicon-containing reagent, a carbene precursor, and a heme protein; and combining the components under conditions sufficient to produce an organosilicon product. Host cells expressing the heme proteins are also provided by the present invention.

Protecting group chemistry for clean, reductant-free dyeing

The present disclosure relates to the biosynthesis of indigoid dye precursors and their conversion to indigoid dyes. Specifically, the present disclosure relates to methods of using polypeptides to produce indigoid dye precursors from indole feed compounds, and the use of the indigoid dye precursors to produce indigoid dyes.

NOVEL P450-BM3 VARIANTS WITH IMPROVED ACTIVITY

The present invention provides improved P450-BM3 variants with improved activity. In some embodiments, the P450-BM3 variants exhibit improved activity over a wide range of substrates.

Monooxygenase and use in preparation of optically pure sulfoxide

A monooxygenase having an amino acid sequence obtained by mutation of the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:2 is disclosed. The use of the monooxygenase of the present invention in production of chiral sulfoxide-based drugs has advantages including mild reaction conditions, environmental friendliness, high yield, high optical purity of products, less peroxide products, and the like, and therefore the monooxygenase in the present invention has a good industrial application prospect in the production of proton pump inhibitors for the treatment of gastric ulcers.
