A dining utensil includes a stimulating component, a sensing component, and a communication component to enhance a dining experience. The stimulating component includes one or more light sources, which may be different colors. The utensil has a processor with the computer program configured to activate the stimulating component to illuminate the eating portion of the utensil, which may display an image or video. The stimulating component may be optically coupled with a light guide to provide lighted bands, portions, and patterns. The sensing component senses a food condition, and may be configured to activate the stimulating component. The communication component provides wireless communication with a mobile phone and the internet.

The present disclosure discloses an electronic coaster, comprising at least one first imaging sensor to capture at least one first image of a beverage present in a beverage holder placed on the electronic coaster, at least one second imaging sensor to capture at least one second image of ambience around the electronic coaster and a computing unit to receive the at least one first image and the at least one second image, process spectrum of the at least one first and second image for obtaining spectral signature of the beverage and compare the spectral signature of the beverage with predefined spectral signature of plurality of beverages to identify type of the beverage.

An article that can be formed into a sleeve or a coaster for a beverage container. The article includes: (a) a first sheet that is at least sufficiently flexible to be wrapped around the cylindrical body of the beverage container to position an inner surface of an end portion of the first sheet adjacent an outer surface of a tab portion of the first sheet to form an overlapping area between the end portion and the tab portion; (b) a first adhesive on a first portion of an inner surface of the first sheet, wherein the first portion is at least partially within the overlapping area; and (c) a second adhesive on a second portion of the inner surface of the first sheet, wherein the second portion is at least partially outside the overlapping area, and wherein the first adhesive and the second adhesive can be the same or different.

A dining plate active foodware system senses food characteristics, such as weight and calories. Removable dining plates are placed on an underplate comprising sensing and wireless communication components. The system may include a camera. Data related to the food is sent to the internet as well as displayed on the visual stimulating component of a handheld communication device, such as a mobile phone. Auditory and haptic stimuli may also be provided.

An alert emitted by the alarm apparatus is silenced when the orientation sensing component of the deactivation apparatus detects a change in an angular orientation of the deactivation apparatus corresponding to a user lifting and drinking from the fluid container.

The present invention relates to decorative ornaments made out of beverage coasters. The ornaments are formed by engaging a plurality of beverage coasters with a center disc. In order to be compatible, specialized beverage coasters are provided wherein the coasters include a score line to facilitate folding and a central rectangular cutout to facilitate engagement with the center disc.

A coaster is structured to be coupled to a conventional cup, such as an iced beverage cup, using a conventional cup sleeve. The coaster includes a generally disk shaped base having an outer perimeter. Two or more elongate tethers extend outwardly from the outer perimeter of the base. The coaster assumes a combination-ready configuration with the two or more elongate tethers extending generally upright and outwardly to a same side of the base, in such a way that the coaster fits snugly within a conventional cup sleeve. In a final combination configuration with a cup sleeve, the coaster combines with the cup sleeve to create an insulating and water absorptive coaster and sleeve, frictionally and snugly coupled to the cup in a robust manner to make the coaster highly portable together with the cup and cup sleeve, and configured to collect condensation formed on the exterior surface of the cup.

A liquid image stamping arrangement stamps support surfaces with liquid imagery with a primary goal of providing a simple form of advertising. The liquid image stamping arrangement is usable in combination with containers of virtually any shape, dimension, and material construction, whether open or sealed. Liquid firstly positioned at an exterior container surface is secondly directed downwardly through a drainage portion to particularly deposit the liquid upon an image support surface for forming liquid imagery. The liquid may be in the form of condensate or overflow/spillage. The stamping arrangement provides a material construction that utilizes the inherent properties of the liquid to particularly direct and deposit liquid adjacent containers such that when the container is lifted from the surface a distinct image is revealed. The stamping arrangement may be integrally formed with a container or removably engaged with or attached to the container.

A system is described that generates insights on the consumption or usage behavior of a product by analyzing the real-time usage of the product by one or more users. The product is placed on the measuring device for continuous monitoring of the usage of the product by those one or more users in real-time. The measuring device includes a sensor unit that generates weigh data, motion data, location data, and time consumed data of the product and transmits to a computing device. A communication device records the consumption or usage of the product by a user, along with feedback from the user. The computing device generates insights based on the sensed data generated by the measuring device, and recording and feedback at the communication device. The computing device generates reports-one for the user, and one for a merchant of the product and/or similar products-including respective insights.
