Method for Delivering Mail, a Mail Delivery System and a Software Product
Item delivery system comprises at least one personal mailbox and optionally a publicly available post box. The mailbox doors are provided with an electronic lock operated by a radio frequent signal containing an authentication code, sent from a nearby personal communication device provided with software. The software contains modules for performing online payment for mail delivery services and modules for granting or revoking access to mailboxes.
THEFT-RESISTANT DEPOSIT BOX
A wall mount deposit box is provided. A housing includes a front side and a back side. A rotatable content deposit includes a content delivery door and an inner panel affixed on a proximate end at an angle to a bottom of the content delivery door, and is pivotably attached to the front side of the housing. A content slot is formed as an opening within a front surface of the housing when the rotatable content deposit is in a fully open position allowing content to be deposited through the opening over each of the inner panel and the safety arm. A content retrieval door is located below the rotatable content deposit and is pivotably attached to the front side of the housing.
Drone operated delivery receptacle
A drone operated delivery receptacle for receiving packages. The delivery receptacle includes a housing having a base, sidewalls, and an open upper end, defining an interior volume. The open upper end includes one or more gates that are movable between an open and closed configuration, and are configured to open when a delivery drone is detected by a control unit of the delivery receptacle. Preferably, the one or more gates are configured to automatically open when a drone is detected so as to allow the drone to deposit the package therein. A front wall of the housing comprises one or more doors thereon that allow the user to access the interior volume of the housing to retrieve the package therein.
Weather-resistant lock
A lock can include attack-resistant and/or weather-resistant features. Attack-resistant features can include a sacrificial link between a locking mechanism and an external keyway covering an exterior face of the locking mechanism. The sacrificial link can break during a torque attack on the lock such that the full force of the torque attack is not applied to the locking mechanism. Weather-resistant features can include drain openings in one or more housing components external to the locking mechanism to facilitate drainage of liquid matter from the lock before the liquid matter reaches the locking mechanism.
Smart postal mailbox device
A smart postal mailbox device is disclosed that incorporates a camera and an imaging processing capability. When the device is in place inside a postal mailbox and is activated by a content element being placed in, or removed from, the mailbox, the camera obtains an image of the interior of the mailbox, which it then analyzes by first using pre-processing to correct for geometric distortion. The image is then decomposed using vision related algorithms into a discreet information dataset. This discrete data set is compared to previous data sets using a neural decision tree. If appropriate, the device transmits a message informing a remote user of the current state of the mailbox.
Mailbox apparatus
The present invention discloses a mailbox apparatus including: a box for accommodating mail, wherein the box includes: two horizontal tracks, each of the tracks disposed at an inner upper part of an opposite sidewall of the box; and two pins, vertically disposed at the same level, each of the pins horizontally disposed at an entry side to one of the tracks; a door having side grooves in side facets of the door positionally corresponding to the pins, wherein the door adapted to have: an open state in which the door is horizontally disposed at an upper inner side of the box, thereby allowing insertion and extraction of the mail; and a closed state in which the door is vertically disposed. Preferably, the apparatus includes: a spring mechanism for applying force on the door while being inserted into the tracks, thereby retaining the door in position upon placing into the tracks.
Compartment-specific Access Authorization Information
The disclosure relates to a method comprising outputting access authorization information, which is a necessary condition for access to a compartment of a compartment system. The specific compartment is known, and the access authorization information is generated at least using information identifying the compartment, such that the compartment is determinable by the compartment system using the access authorization information. The compartment system may be stateless with respect to the determination of the compartment using the access authorization information. The access authorization information and the compartment system may be configured in a way such that the compartment system does not need to receive any further information in order to perform a check to determine whether access to the compartment can be granted on the basis of the access authorization information and/or the compartment system only obtains information from that device from which the compartment system obtains the access authorization information.
Locking apparatus for community mailbox
A locking apparatus for a community mailbox prevents the opening of the main access door through which a mail carrier may gain access to the interiors of all of the individual mailboxes of the community mailbox. The locking apparatus has a mounting plate which is configured to be attached to an outer housing of the community mailbox. A stop plate is pivotally attached to the mounting plate. The stop plate is configured to be locked into a first position which prevents the opening of the main access door. The stop plate is further configured such that when unlocked, the stop plate may be pivoted into a second position which allows the opening of the main access door.
Closure for a compartment
The invention provides a closures (106) for a compartment (100) having one or more walls (112, 114, 116, 118) and an opening (110) defined by at least one of the walls (112, 114, 116, 118). The closure (106) is associated with at least one fastener located inside the compartment (100). The fastener can hold the closure (106) in a first position (eg. closed) relative to the opening (110). The fastener is adapted to cause the closure (106) to assume a second position (eg. open) relative to the opening (110) upon receipt of a suitable signal. The closure (106) has at least one indicium (108) visible from outside the compartment (110). The indicium (108) is adapted to provide a visual indication of a status of the closure (106) or the compartment (110), such as closure open, closure closed, compartment empty, compartment occupied. Instead of indicium (108) or in addition to it, the closure of the invention can include in the fastener means for communicating to a remote device, a status of the closure or the compartment. The closure and the compartment may form an array with other closures and compartments having similar fasteners. In that event, the fastener in each compartment may be addressable.
