A user may place an order with an e-commerce service using an e-commerce application or website. The e-commerce service, upon receiving the order, may transmit order information to a lockbox remote service which can communicate with a user device associated with the user who placed the order, the access device for the lockbox, and a deliverer's device from the delivery company. The lockbox remote service or authorized user/owner may set access codes for the deliverer to open and place a parcel in a lockbox's compartment for safe and secure storage until the user arrives home.

The second housing defines a compartment sized and shaped to receive and carry the pharmaceutical container. A gas chamber is disposed between the first and second housings. The gas chamber is configured to hold a gas in an inflated state of the gas chamber. A passage extends from the first housing to the second housing and defines a passageway extending there-between to allow the pharmaceutical container to be positioned in the compartment of the second housing by moving the pharmaceutical container through the passageway. One or more supports are connected to and extending between the first housing and the second housing. The one or more supports secure and hold the second housing in the first housing.

The landing pad contains a landing platform with a trapdoor that leads to a storage compartment. The trapdoor can be configured to only open when it receives a signal from an authorized aerial vehicle. The storage compartment can be accessed via a storage compartment door which can contain a locking mechanism. The storage compartment can be climate controlled. The landing pad can also have a transmitter that emits sounds to discourage animals from nesting on or near the landing pad. The landing pad can also include a solar power generator as a source of electrical energy.

To receive and protect delivered packages, a package receiving station is configured to receive package from delivery vehicles. The station includes walls that extend upward to create an interior space of the station and a roof or other movable portion that is moveable between a first position covering the interior space and a second position allowing access to the interior space. A motor causes movement of the moveable roof or movable portion and an access portal in the wall allows access into the interior space to retrieve the package. A receiver receives a signal from or detects the arrival of the delivery vehicle and generates a control signal. A controller, responsive to the control signal, sends an activation signal to the motor to move the moveable roof or movable portion.

A package delivery system includes a door access panel that is moveable between an open position and a closed position, and a frame configured to be carried by a door adjacent a passageway and configured to movably mount the door access panel. The system includes an actuator, a motor, and a controller to control selective actuation of the door access panel. The system also includes a wireless communication interface to communicatively couple the controller and a smart device for receiving a remote input to actuate the door access panel between the closed and opened positions. The system further includes a user interface configured to receive local input for actuation of the door access panel. A sensing unit is also included and has a position sensor to generate position signals to the controller. A scanning unit is coupled to the controller to scan packages delivered through the passageway.

In one embodiment, a universal delivery reception unit includes a chassis frame, a first insert module secured within the chassis frame, and at least a second insert module adjacent the first insert module and secured within the chassis frame. The result is a universal delivery reception unit for temporarily receiving and storing independent deliveries at a site.

The method comprises the steps of, remotely selecting an item from a menu of items provided by a vendor and requesting the item be delivered to the residence, providing the vendor delivery information including the address and the combination code to the lock, shipping the package to the residence, reviewing the combination code associated with the package, opening the locker by manipulating the proper combination on the lock, placing the package in the locker; and closing door of the locker. The locker has an outer frame and door that cooperate to allow any liquid to drain out from the front of the locker and outside the residence and a combination lock that allows for the combination to be easily changed by the resident.

A system and method for securing delivered packages is provided. One embodiment employs a j-shaped or u-shaped support member secured to a fixed location structure; a basket configured to receive a delivered package; an articulated frame that opens to receive the delivered package into the basket; and that closes to secure the delivered package within the basket; a latch; and a controller system controllably coupled to the latch, wherein the controller system releases the latch in response to an arrival of a package so that the articulated frame is opened to receive the delivered package into the basket, and wherein after the articulated frame is closed with the delivered package residing in the basket, the latch is engaged to lock the closed articulated frame.
