Bracket for surface mounting

A bracket for mounting objects to a wall includes a base defining mounting holes for fasteners. An arm extends from the base and has a top, a bottom and a maximum width at the interconnection with the base. The mounting holes includes at least two that are spaced from another by a distance greater than a maximum width of the arm so that one of the mounting holes is outside the arm on one side of the arm and another of the mounting holes is outside the arm on the other side of the arm. At least a portion of the mounting holes is located above the top of the arm.

The outer rod is mounted substantially parallel to the inner rod along the length thereof and spaced apart from the inner rod forming a gap therebetween. A first portion of a drape is anchored to the inner rod and a second portion of the drape is laid over the outer rod to span the gap between the inner and outer rods.

The apparatus has a wedge body with a first hook at the heel end of the wedge body, and in certain embodiments, the wedge body has a second hook between its heel end and toe end along its inclined plane. The toe end can be wedged between the head of the window framing and intrinsic support typically found adjacent the head of the window framing, like a tension rod or the like. This wedge supports the first and second hooks which protrude from the window framing space for hanging curtain rods therefrom.

The body may be formed with four of the plural cavities, with each of them having beveled edges. The ball-cap components may include a ball region, a neck region, and an angled region located adjacent the neck region and away from the ball region. The top-cap and ball-cap components may include insertion regions with opposing sets of ribs. The coupler system may further include a cover component, and the body may be formed with a central hole for receiving a fastener that secures the cover component to the top-cap component.
