The weeding device has a step for applying foot pressure to insert the first and second forks in the soil prior. A lever extension of the rotating jaw on an opposite side of the handle contacts the soil when the forks are fully inserted in the soil, and as the handle is rotated toward the soil a tip of the second fork inclines toward a tip of the first fork to close the first fork and the second fork around a plant.

A weeding device that allows a user to remove weeds, invasive plants, and other small items imbedded in dirt while in a standing position. The weeding device allows for the separation of penetrating and grasping forces so a user may remove fragile weeds from hard ground, tough weeds from soft ground, or any combination thereof with minimal disturbance and damage to the surrounding soil.

A method of removing a weed using the weed removal tool includes engaging the weed with the loop of the weed removal tool, digging into the soil adjacent to a root structure of the weed, and removing the root structure of the weed.

The distal edge is sharpened to an angle within a tolerance of forty to fifty degrees for a reduced thickness to cut the work material. A method for manufacturing the yard tool blade forms a yard tool blade blank. A cutting edge is machined on a distal edge of the yard tool blade blank. The yard tool blade blank is formed into a shaped yard tool blade. The shaped yard tool blade is heat treated after the cutting edge is machined on the distal edge.
