The sensor arrangement provides a pole arrangement which forms at least one magnetic pole with a pole surface for conducting magnetic flux, wherein at least a portion of the chopping knife passes the pole arrangement during a rotation of the chopping drum. A voltage induced when a chopping knife arrangement passes the sensor arrangement forms the measured magnetic value, which is used by the evaluation unit to determine the state of wear of the chopping knife arrangement.
CONTROL OF A CHOPPER ARRANGEMENT FOR AN AGRICULTURAL HARVESTER
A controller for controlling a chopper arrangement of an agricultural harvester. The controller receives sensor data indicative of an intensity of chopping performed on crop material by the chopper arrangement, and sensor data indicative of a power consumption of the chopper arrangement. The controller has a processor to determine an actuator setting for a chopper arrangement actuator of the agricultural harvester in dependence on the received sensor data indicative of the intensity of chopping and the received sensor data indicative of the power consumption. The controller sends an actuator control signal to the chopper arrangement actuator to control the chopper arrangement actuator to operate in accordance with the associated determined actuator setting. The determined actuator setting includes an amount of insertion, and an angle of insertion, of at least one bank of counter knives of the chopper arrangement relative to rotatable knife rows of the chopper arrangement.

Example aspects of a wrap cutting assembly for a bale wrap and a method for using a bale wrap cutting and retaining apparatus are disclosed. The wrap cutting assembly can comprise a saw housing defining a connection portion; a saw comprising a plurality of teeth configured to cut the bale wrap; and a linkage system movably coupling the saw to the saw housing and configured to move the saw along an arcuate path.
Chopping unit of a forage harvester and shear bar for a chopping unit
A chopping unit (10) of a forage harvester, having a chopping drum (11) bearing chopping blades (15), having a shear bar carrier (17) bearing a shear bar (16) for the chopping blades (15), wherein a top side (20), facing away from the shear bar carrier (17), of the shear bar (16) provides a cutting edge (21) of the shear bar (16), wherein the top side (20) of the shear bar (16) is contoured such that the top side (20) of the shear bar (16) is inclined, at least in a top-side portion (26) facing the chopping drum (11), continuously in the direction of the chopping drum (11) in the contact region with the chopping blades, as seen in the axial direction of the chopping drum (11).
Agricultural baler with knife overload mitigating system
A cutting unit includes: a plurality of knives; a knife guard with at least one opening; a knife tray carrying the knives and movable between an exposed position where the knives extend through the at least one opening and a retracted position where the knives are shielded by the knife guard; and an overload protection assembly including a first slide member coupled to the knife tray and having a first engagement surface and a second slide member having a second engagement surface that is engaged with the first engagement surface. The first slide member and the second slide member are held together and slidable relative to one another such that the first slide member slides relative to the second slide member to move the knife tray from the exposed position to the retracted position when an overload force is applied to at least one of the knives.
Chopping Blade of a Forage Harvester and Method for Producing Said Chopping Blade
Chopping blade (10), having a basic body (11), which has a fastening portion (12) for fastening said chopping blade to a chopping drum and a cutting portion (13) which is angled in relation to the fastening portion, and having a crop-guiding element (15) which is fastened to the fastening portion (12) and is intended for guiding chopped harvested crop, wherein a guide surface (16) of the crop-guiding element (15) has a curved contour.
