NON-WOVEN FABRICS FOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS
An agricultural cover is formed from a spunbond material. The non-woven fabric may be used with agricultural products.
FIBER MAT WITH CHANNELS
A fiber mat includes natural wood fibers formed into an elongated strip having an upper surface and a lower surface, the upper surface having a first plurality of channels extending into the elongated strip, each of the first plurality of channels having a channel depth being different in a central portion of the mat than in an edge portion of the mat.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RECYCLING END-OF-USE TEXTILES INTO SECOND GENERATION TEXTILES
A process for making a textile from a feedstock comprising a quantity of post-consumer apparel, each item of apparel having a desired textile composition and devoid of non-textile materials, including shredding the feedstock to obtain textile shreds, providing the textile shreds as a component in at least a first layer of a plurality of stacked layers comprising at least a second layer of supporting material, and feeding the plurality of stacked layers through a needle-felting machine in a plurality of passes, including at least one pass in each of a plurality of different 90-degree offset orientations. The textile shreds, or a mixture of the textile shreds and new textile fibers comprising no more than 15%-20% new textile fibers, may be carded with a carding machine to form a batting. Products made by the process may include a 100% cotton mulch mat for agricultural use.
BICOLOR GROUND COVER
An agricultural ground cover system that includes a bicolor ground cover for placing on a soil substrate to control a temperature thereof, the bicolor ground cover can include a cover layer including a laminate film applied to a woven layer that includes a plurality of woven polypropylene filaments. A plurality of openings spaced at intervals within the bicolor ground cover can allow for plant growth. An upper side can be a white color and a lower side can be a black color. The cover layer can comprise a white color and then woven layer can comprise a black color.
Disposable diaper recycling and applications thereof
One embodiment provides a modular green roof tray, house plant growth media and horticulture growth media, and a tree protection mat for weed and moisture control made from recycled disposable diapers. The growth medium and tree protection mat contain superabsorbent materials from diaper that can absorb waters and greatly reduce irrigation so to provide a drought resistant feature. One embodiment also provides a manufacturing process to perform 100% recycling of disposed diapers.
WOVEN GROUND COVER MATERIALS
A ground cover sheet material for use in agriculture is woven from warp and weft tapes of a plastics material and at least one warp tape comprising a wicking material to form a longitudinal wick in the sheet material through which water or vapour may flow or flow more freely than through the plastics material.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRINTING ON LANDSCAPE FABRIC
A method which includes printing indicia on landscape fabric using a roll-to-roll printer; and wherein the landscape fabric is configured to have a plurality of characteristics based on the printing requirements of the roll-to-roll printer. The roll-to-roll printer may be a hybrid printer, which suctions the landscape fabric; and wherein the hybrid printer is configured to print on flexible media and rigid media. The plurality of characteristics of the landscape fabric may include a weight per square foot of the landscape fabric; and wherein the weight per square foot of the landscape fabric is great enough to hold the landscape fabric in place by the roll-to-roll printer. The plurality of characteristics of the landscape fabric may include that the landscape fabric has been cut from a sheet which is larger than the landscape fabric in a manner so that at least one edge of the landscape fabric is uniform.
TREE AND PLANT WATERING MAT
One embodiment provides a modular green roof tray, house plant growth media and horticulture growth media, and a tree protection mat for weed and moisture control made from recycled disposable diapers. The growth medium and tree protection mat contain superabsorbent materials from diaper that can absorb waters and greatly reduce irrigation so to provide a drought resistant feature. One embodiment also provides a manufacturing process to perform 100% recycling of disposed diapers.
Methods for controlling weeds and water using a bag filled with landscaping material
A bag constructed of a weed suppression material for packaging a ground cover material. When the bag is in a closed configuration, the bag serves as a container for shipping, handling, and storage of the ground cover material. When the bag is opened and unfolded, and the ground cover material within the bag is spread over the opened and unfolded bag, the bag serves as a layer of weed suppression material on top of underlying soil and beneath the ground cover. In addition, the bag may be used for planting individual plants in a planting bed, for establishing a buffer zone around the foundation of a building, or for controlling erosion around a downspout of a building.
