MULTILAYER BIODEGRADABLE FILM
This invention relates to a multilayer biodegradable film which is particularly suitable for the manufacture of packaging and is also characterised by appreciable optical transparency properties in addition to high level mechanical properties.
AGRICULTURAL FUMIGATION USING A MULTILAYER FILM INCLUDING A PVDC VAPOR BARRIER
Methods for fumigating soil include applying over fumigant-treated soil a multilayer polymeric film to form a vapor barrier between the fumigant-treated soil and the atmosphere to at least partially contain the fumigant. The multilayer film includes at least one barrier layer comprising at least one vinylidene chloride polymer and protecting layers on each side of the barrier layer. The multilayer film preferably has at least one UV protecting layer and optionally at least one reflective layer.

Biodegradable mulch of the type used in various agricultural applications is made by multi-layer extrusion from a mixture of two compostable biodegradable polymers that comply with the EN13432 standard and that include potato starch, a black masterbatch and biodegradable recycled polymers. The mulch self-degrades in a short period of time, becoming a compostable material that enriches the soil, avoiding the collecting and cleaning tasks that are necessary in conventional mulches.
Soil biodegradable blown film bag formulation
A blown film of soil biodegradable aliphatic polyesters produced primarily from diacid and diol monomers. The diacid monomers may be of any type including succinic acid, adipic acid, and hexanedioic acid. The diol monomer may be of any type including ethylene glycol, propanediol, butanediol, and hexanediol. Commercial aliphatic polyesters produced from diacid and diol monomers include polybutylene succinate (PBS), polybutylene adipate succinate (PBAS), and polybutylene adipate (PBA). Comonomers may also be added. Such comonomers include chemicals with a single carboxylic acid, hydroxy, or amine moiety, which act as chain terminators, chemicals with three or more carboxylic acid, epoxy, and/or hydroxy moieties which, act as branching agents.
SPRAYABLE POLYMER MEMBRANE FOR AGRICULTURE
A process for preparing a polymeric membrane for soil materials used in crop production comprising providing an aqueous dispersion of polyurethane and spraying the aqueous dispersion onto soil materials to be used in crop production to form a polymeric membrane.
Resin composition
Disclosed is a resin composition having excellent weather resistance, in which occurrence of initial coloration, bleeding and blooming is suppressed. The resin composition contains, with respect to 100 parts by mass of (A) an olefin-based resin: 0.05 to 0.3 parts by mass of (B) a hindered amine-based light stabilizer; 0.05 to 0.3 parts by mass of (C) a benzoate compound; and 0.001 to 0.01 parts by mass of (D) a benzotriazole-based ultraviolet absorber.
System for moderating energy absorption at the earth's surface with a programmable forcing network of climate control panels
A dynamic controllable system for moderating energy absorption at the earth's surface includes a series of panel units mounted above the earth's surface over land and water masses or on buildings. Each panel unit supports rotatable shafts, with panels joined to or integrally formed with the shafts. Each panel (forcing) has a radiation reflective surface and a radiation emissive surface opposite the radiation reflective surface. The panels are selectively rotated into a predetermined one cardinal positions: reflective, emissive and neutral, or into an intermediate position between cardinal positions. The programmable controller receives various data including top of atmosphere satellite data, air temperature and relative humidity at panel units, weather data, time of day, position of panel units, radiation insolation, and combinations thereof. Responsive to real-time data, both local and regional, the programmable controller directs rotational orientation of panels, causing a desired reflection of shortwave and longwave radiation away from the earth's surface.
PREPARATION METHOD FOR DEGRADABLE LIQUID-STATE MULCHING FILM BY USING LIVESTOCK MANURE AS RAW MATERIAL
The present disclosure specifically relates to a preparation method for a degradable liquid-state mulching film by using livestock manure as a raw material, including pulverizing and sieving the dried livestock manure, followed by mixing with water to form a slurry; mixing the slurry with a stabilizer, an inorganic material and water to form a homogeneous suspension, followed by mixing with a surfactant, a grafted monomer mixture, a plasticizer and water to form a pre-emulsified mixed liquid; and finally raising a temperature of the pre-emulsified mixed liquid and adding an initiator under stirring to react to obtain a liquid-state mulching film. The mulching film obtained in the present disclosure not only has the functions of temperature raising, soil moisture conservation and grass controlling, but also has a strong adhesion ability to cause top soil particles to form an ideal agglomerate structure.
