Tree processing systems
11425869 · 2022-08-30 · ·

The present invention relates generally to an improved tree processing system enabling efficient, reliable and accurate processing of harvested trees. The system includes a grabbing head having first grabbing arms and a delimbing head having second grabbing arms. The first and second grabbing arms are mounted on a boom system and can be activated to grab the tree stem of a harvested tree. When grabbed, the boom system can be selectively extended or retracted to effect delimbining of a felled tree. Each of the delimbing head and grabbing head includes saws allowing an operator to selectively activate one or both saws to cut a length of timber.

A crane arrangement includes a base, a pillar boom, a lifting boom, a folding boom, a lifting cylinder, and a folding cylinder. The lifting boom includes a first pivot point for connecting the pillar boom to the lifting boom, a second pivot point for connecting the lifting cylinder to the lifting boom, and a third pivot point for connecting the folding cylinder to the lifting boom. The lifting boom further includes a hollow cast connecting piece arranged at the first end of the lifting boom, in which connecting piece at least the first pivot point and second pivot point are arranged. The invention also relates to a corresponding work machine.

Spike for harvester heads and debarker rollers

A feed roll spike for mounting to a surface, i.e. the outer surface of a feed roller of a harvester head or a debarking machine. The feed roll spike comprises a substantially truncated cone shape base having a top side, a bottom side and an axis; and evenly-spaced identical projections extending upwardly from the top side of the base. The space between the projections defines channels.

Log processing head
10806103 · 2020-10-20 · ·

A log processing head with a top knife and moveable feed means and delimbing and/or debarking means pushing a log against the top knife by means of actuators. In order to allow the top knife to follow the contour of the log without damaging a pin holding the knife, a pivot joint is used between the knife and the connection of the pin on the structure.

Curved delimbing blade, use of same, corresponding delimbing head and cutting kit

A curved blade for a delimbing head operable to cut branches from a felled tree is disclosed. The curved blade comprises a cutting rim, at least one portion of which comprises a continuous flange defining a continuous cutting edge, as well as at least one row of ribs that are straight and parallel to each other, extending in the direction of at least one face of the cutting rim from the continuous flange. The continuous cutting edge of the blade having these straight parallel ribs reduces the lateral load of the continuous cutting edge during the operation of cutting branches from a felled tree.

Machine for debranching living trees

A machine for debranching living trees can move up and down the tree autonomously via a drive mechanism and has an upper cutting unit including three blades and below it a lower cutting unit including two blades. The in total five blades are arranged so that they cover the full girth of the tree. The two blades in the lower cutting unit are horizontally offset so that their end portions can overlap. To move the machine along the tree trunk there are two belt drives which press against the tree and are both driven by a single hydraulic motor. The upper cutting unit with its three blades can move horizontally as a whole, so that when the machine is moved and encounters thicker or slightly bent parts of the tree trunk it can give way in order to prevent the bark from being damaged by the blades.
